Poppy pod tea.
Yeah, so on tuesday i've possibly got 15 medium size turkish white pods arriving. I've searched high and low for a recipe that looks half decent but they all look fail.
My plan was.
1 cup water
1 and 1/2 cup(s) of grapefruit juice
4 pods per person (ground into finest possible powder)
Honey to taste
Can anyone also tell me the way i'd prepare this? the only way i see is to let the ground pods steep in hot water and then add other ingredients and bring back up to heat again on the stove.

Re: Poppy pod tea.
Its easy to make tea the easiest way to make a good brew is to take your pods and crush them to a powder and put them in a pot or jar. Now boil enough water to cover the pods plus half (make sure it fits in container with pods) Now add boiling water to pods and let steep for 30-45 min. Strain and drink. A second brew can be done for any extras but not really needed. I have some pods comming my way too I cant wait.

This is the method i've used in the past with good results.
Be careful on the dosing though, drink a cup or so at a time, the potency often varies.

Re: Poppy pod tea.
Does anyone know if poppy seeds give an effect?
Mabe I was doing it wrong but when I tried soaking a 500g bag of poppy seeds in lukewarm water and drinking it with pineaplle juice there was absolutly no effect, so either I fucked up the recipie or I wasted my money

The seeds work but you need to boil them...google Poppy Tea Recipe or something like that and you should come across a few different methods. I've had much better results with the pods.

I found the best way to brew it is to:
1) Bring water to a boil
2) Add seeds and let sit *stirring occasionally*
3) After about 4-6 mins pour into an old shirt and twist it (to get all of the liquid from the seeds
4) Add lemon juice for taste
5) Enjoy
For potentiation try N0 W4RN1NG's potentiation formula..it's around BLTC somewhere.

Re: Poppy pod tea.
A guy I know went to rehab because he got addicted to poppy seed tea. Apparently some heroin addict there said that its impossible to get a high from drinking the tea and gave him shit for it. My friend made up a big batch while still at rehab and let the dude drink as much as he wanted. The guy thought he was going to prove my friend wrong and ended up being driven to the E.R.
Just a funny story I thought I'd share.

Lol, nice. Poppy tea can be problematic because it's difficult if not impossible to know exactly how potent it's going to be. Theres a story of some kid that used the same does every day for months on end, and then one day the dose killed him. I dunno if that shit is true, but it could be. One time you make the potency of Tab 5's the next you may get morphine.
I've personally gotten a much more potent batch using the same amount of the same seeds. I enjoyed myself though..i'm not stupid enough to just chug the shit before I scale the dose by just drinking a cup or two.

Re: Poppy pod tea.
Will not work that way. Here in Europe, expecialy in ex YU popy tea was more often used than across the ocean. Let me tell you how that has to be done, to work. First, your amount is enough for max two persons. If you devide it in more parts, nobody will get stoned. Even one experienced user may need all, but you are beginer.
First you must chrush all the popies. Take seed out, when they are just broken, not powdedred. Then powder it by hand or in a blender ( dry! ). Than you have to boil it. If you boil it shortly you'll take out the best part, but only a small part. If you boil it for an hour or so, you take out all the opium alkaloides. That,s your choice. But you have to boil it. Put enough water so all the popies can be submerged.
After about one hour-which you have to boil them to extract them- pour all in a cloth filter (carefully-hot!) and SQUIEZE ALL THE LIQUID OUT. Then boil down to drinkable amount, one cup per person. You can add lemon or citric acid at the begining, alkaloids will disolve better and easier. At the end you can add sugar, to make it taste a bit less bitter, and that sugar will improve resorption in your stomach. METOD IS PROVEN HUNDREDS OF TIMES.

Re: Poppy pod tea.
Holy shit this thread is filled with nothing but fail.
Three words people, COLD WATER EXTRACTION.
All this boiling of water is only pulling more inactive, nasty CRAP.
You all know the shitty nasty taste of poppy tea right? It's because you BOILED the water, and extracted a whole shit ton of oils and tannins and all kinds of other useless bullshit .
Properly made tea has a very mild taste.

Re: Poppy pod tea.
That is exactly what I did the first time with the seeds. In a bottle for 20 minutes getting shaken occasionally and It did have a mild taste. What it didnt have was any effect.
Mabe it was just a bad batch of seeds or something.

Seeds don't contain any opiates.
It's the actual pods you want, hence poppy pod tea.

According to erowid seeds do have opiates and people have even overdosed on it, but yeah pods would be preferable, if not a fucking real opiate.

Read my story. Seeds definently do work. Apparently you need to find the right brand to get a decent batch though.

Re: Poppy pod tea.
Ugh, fuck you people are lazy and stupid, god damnit.
The reason poppy seeds have been proven effective is because they sit IN opium for their entire life until they are collected, and if your source is good, the seeds are not washed by the supplier, meaning there is morphine, as well as all the other alkaloids coating the seeds, which is why you see people saying to NOT crush the seeds for poppy seed tea. The alkaloids are on the OUTSIDE. A simple cold water wash of a large enough amount of untreated poppy seeds will give maximum yields.
Your shit didn't work because you either did not use enough seeds, or they had been treated/washed by your supplier.
And since you all seem to need your hands held so fucking badly, regarding poppy pod tea, break the pod open first, and collect the seeds, and then powder the pods, add your collected seeds to the powdered pods, shake well with some cold water, and bam.
DO NOT FUCKING POWDER SEEDS. That is the MAIN cause of a shitty taste. The insides of poppy seeds do NOT contain anything of value. Like I said, it's all on the OUTSIDE of the seed.
Throwing whole pods into a blender=epic fail and an upset stomach.
That's it, I'm done, you fuckers can use google from here on.
