Getting over heartbreak
When someone who you truly wanted to spend the rest of your life with, someone you really are in love with, breaks up with you and you know its for good, what are you supposed to do? at all?
I know time is the best healer and usually id look back and laugh at myself for getting so worked up over a girl, especially one it obviously wouldnt work out with, but i wake up every single morning and straight away my chest hurts because i miss her so much, and every day it gets worse as we grow further apart. Ive had bad breakups before, and obviously grieved and eventually accepted it and felt better off knowing i wont make the same mistakes again, but this time, this is honestly the lowest point of my life so far, i've never felt hopelessness like it, i really really love her

Re: Getting over heartbreak
not the first girl i've loved, but the first girl i felt in love with, the one in a million kind of person whose imperfections make you love them more, like i'm certain for sure ill never be as happy with anyone else i could possibly meet

Re: Getting over heartbreak
basically we spent so much time together and she was so comfortable around me it became too much like a friendship for her, and for her the romantic sexual connection wasnt the same, which hurts even more because to this day i still want her as much as the first time we kissed, and i know shes single with the intention on fucking different guys, which i cant even begin thinking about

Listen, I spend most of my time in Sex & Affection above any of the other forums. Know what I've noticed? A lot of guys either realizing they want a nice woman in their life, or being told they're dicks and will regret getting rid of theirs, especially after dating around and noting how incredibly retarded other people are.
Well dude, the same thing happens to women; they ditch an incredibly good guy for an incredibly shitty one, and when they get tired of sleeping around with shitty, emotionally abusive, sub-par men they realize they loved the good guy all along.
I have a friend, who's ex-girlfriend dumped him and the bitch had the nerve to say "you'll regret this in ten years."
He was heart-broken for the longest time, but then...he met a nice girl, and they're married now.
Who's the bitch that's going to regret it now?
Have hope, man. Yeah, you probably feel it'll be down-right impossible to find the same emotional/mental/spiritual connection with another person, and you probably wont be able to love the same way again... but you'll love better. Whereas with her: she's the one that fucked herself over, because the gamble is with her; you loved her, and you show that you have the capacity to love again, but she is the one left with the odds against her; what are the chances that the next person will love her MORE than you?
Ah, there's the rub.

Re: Getting over heartbreak
really appriciate the post
the thing is when i try to think of it that way, the only slight comfort i get from it is convincing myself that one day she'll realise what she threw away and want me back, and considering how im feeling right now i'm definitely enough of a bitch to sit and wait
shes going away for over a month in a couple of days as well, to help take her mind off things, basically travelling to and from a few major cities going out and getting pissed every night, and then finishing with leeds festival, while im stuck here thinking about her every minute of the day, with my friends who have been as unsupportive and dissapointing as you can get
i called my closest friend the other day crying my eyes out, completely sobbing, and he couldnt talk because he was waiting for his dealer..
i really really dont know what im going to do, i think i need more convincing to avoid contact with her, all i want to do is talk to her and i know whatever i say is going to sound like more begging and pleading, and theres no bigger turn-off

Hah, it's a known feeling, man. I was that way with my first boyfriend; we broke up, the world seemed to have ended, 2-3 weeks later, I had my eyes on someone else.
Unfortunately, karma acts unwittingly against you, so the chances of that happening soon are slim-to-none.
I don't mean to sound condescending, or as if i'm trying to cheapen your argument in any sense, but how old are you? and how long has it been since you guys broke up?

Re: Getting over heartbreak
i am young, nearly 20, its been about a week and a half so far
im fully aware how bad things must be for other people out in the world, i dont mean to sound caught up in my own drama, i cant even imagine someones wife or husband of 30+ years dying in an accident, but personally for me i really don't think i could feel much worse, i could be anywhere in the world with her, in any situation, and id be ok just having her, its like the highlight of my life, and potentially the rest of my life, ive lost it already
