Default NA beer, anyone

Non-alcoholic, that is. (Okay, it has a tiny bit, not enough to be toxic.)

I drink the stuff--usually O'Doules--because I like that taste, and being a half-breed redskin, I can't handle firewater in any, way, shape or form.

Anyone else?

Thumbs up Re: NA beer, anyone

I've tried it a handful of times. It does have a nice flavour for when you'd like a beer, without the intoxication.

I've known quite a few people that drink them while at work, or in the morning. It's a good way to distance oneself from alcoholism.

I don't know of any particular breweries.

I've never understood the point of beer without alcohol in it.

I suppose if a brewery actually wanted to cater to the beer drinkers who critique and enjoy the flavors and complexities of beer, a NA would work okay, so long as they provided the variety.

As it stands now, it seems like NA beers are marketed at the designated drivers who don't want to look like designated drivers, or at people who, for whatever reason, can't handle being a social outcast who isn't drinking/doesn't drink. I can't honestly think of sitting down on a summer evening and going "Ya know what? I want the crisp refreshment of a Coors product, but not the 5% abv...what shall I do? AH! Coors Non-Alcoholic, of course!"

If you only want one beer, have one beer, and then have a snack, which will keep your BAC low enough to drive, have sex, throw stones at lepers, or whatever your heart desires. I've never seen a person drink more than one NA beer, and it really seems pretty pointless.

We serve it at the restaurant I work at. Never tried it though.

I've always found it funny though, that they give an Irish name to a non-alcoholic beer.

Not everyone drinks to get drunk. The op just wants to enjoy a beer without waking up in a daze with a bloodied tomahawk.

You can have a beer without getting piss drunk, ya know. As I stated, have a snack with it, and you're as good as not drunk, so long as you limit your intake.

I can't imagine the crop of readily-available NA beers being anything that a serious beer connoisseur would be drinking for taste alone.

I don't get drunk when I drink. But I do like to feel a good buzz when drinking. If I didn't want that feeling I would just drink water.
