Just buy yourself spores and BUILD YOUR OWN KIT for FRACTIONS ON THE DOLLAR [or pound].

I have built and continue to build my own shit regarding growing anything and you'd be surprised that homemade shit works just as good, if not better than anything you can buy pre-made for you.

It's really easy. really all you need are a few rubermaid containers, and other cheap misc. items.

But it's on you... my cousin bought a kit online that was $500 (what a mistake) and when I went over there to see where all this money went, it was nothing more than an exact duplicate of my homemade set up, same containers and everything...

I spent about $50 total on everything including spores...

And the best part is...

the homemade kit works better, because it allowed me to set up specific things regarding my enviornment.

Which website did your seeds get busted from? If it was nirvana, they're notorious for having that happen, so notorious in fact that some of us believe THEY send out the letter. Did you email wherever your order came from and tell them it never came?

And to the OP, don't buy a growkit, like alcatraz said, it's MUCH better to make your own.

If you make your own you can either do it really cheap for personal, or if you're trying to grow a good amount, go all out.

And anyone interested in growing, I'd suggest you buy a glovebox from harborfreight, they're called sandblasting cabinets, but they're awesome, don't expect ANY contams.

Regarding making my own growkit instead of buying one, what would i need, besides spore needles? New to all this, hence the pathetic questions.

your going to need to build an incubator for the incubation process:

-two containers that fit into each other, like smaller rubbermaids.
-fishtank heater
-thermometer

basically, you put the fishtank heater on the bottom of one of the containers.
set to around 78 or so
fill the bottom with water so it completely covers the heater
fit in the other container into the other one, so it is floating in the water on the other one.

you put your jars (assuming PF-Tek) in the one that is floating on top of the heated water, and cover that container.

This is your incubator.


for your Fruiting chamber, its simple as well:

-container with a clear top
-perlite
-polyfill
-small CFL or flouro light
-hand mister


You take your container, drill SEVERAL holes around the sides. Fill these holes with the polyfill so contams can't enter your FC.

Fill bottom of container, at least 4 inches or so of damp perlite.

this gives your container the humidity

mist the fuck out of that perlite several times a day and give your cakes fresh air exchange.

I used a fish tank bubbler to provide constant air exchange.


like I said this is a basic PF Tek set up
