Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more!

Anyone ever play this? I thought it was pretty great and in context of when it came out it was a landmark.

When I played it, I found it to be pretty tedious and generally crap. I think I played Shenmue 2 on the Xbox.

Strangely enough, I think it was playing GTA4 that made me look back and appreciate it. Seeing how GTA tried so hard to create an organic, realistic world and still falling short made me appreciate how well Shenmue did it, even a few years ago.

Although having to work and shit was lame. And Lucky Hit was slow and a lousy way to make money. But so was moving books and boxes and shit.

I only played 2 and loved the fuck out of it, I actually enjoyed all those monotonous mini-games. Are they going to make 3?

I found it kind of boring and repetitive. Although I don't think I got very far.
