Of the thousands of useless subgenres of metal, this by far my favorite. Anyone know any good sludge bands? I already have the big ones like Acid Bath, Eyehategod, Exhorder, Corrosion of Conformity, etc.

The Sleep album Dopesmoker is sludge/doom, fucking heavy and long too.

Isis is the only one I have, its sorta weird for Metal to be slow... I mean gothic doom bands like Virgin Black are great-- but most of it isn't that slow.

I see what you're saying, but Sabbath was way slower than modern metal, and they're pretty much the creators of it. Besides, I hate those fuckin' bands that equate playing fast with playing well. Jimi Hendrix could play good, maybe not as fast as that Dragonforce chink, but with a whole lot more emotion.
