Default looking for PCI-E Videocards

I am pricing a new computer build for myself. I have been out of the building loop for a while, and need a more powerful machine.

[any hardware suggestions are welcome - this will be my main desktop and a development box]

[MAIN ISSUE] ---> I wish to run Dual Monitors (spanned) and non-proprietary drivers. I will use one of the three, SuSe Debian Fedora. Most likely Debian or Fedora. (have a different computer in mind for SuSe)

thanks for the input

Use an ATI card for that, they've been getting really great with supporting freedom lately. DO research the driver you'd need though. If you can't find any that work, intel's drivers are just about all free, but I don't know if any of them can do multi-monitors.

I've always been treated well by my nVidia cards. They dont fuck up unless you do.
