Some time before the summers up a friend of mine,my girlfriend and myself want to take a day trip to NYC....we plan on taking a bus for 20$ round trip from my town to the city....we will get droped off at the port authority and I am looking for suggestions for things to do for the day....cheep things.....I figured we would get a unlimited Sub-way ticket and see the city....living off McDonalds....sadly the Dollar menu is a little lacking in the city but we will manage....Three seventeen yearold kids in the city on 100$ a piece......suggestions?

You can get some good food from street vendors for relatively cheap

Go find some websites with shit to do in the city, there are tons of them.

I'd avoid times square. It sucks and it's boring. It's nothing but overpriced stores and crappy restaurants and is definitely not the place to go if you're looking to do something cheap.

Usually when I go to the city it's to go to a bar or to see a concert (typically at a bar) but you guys are 17 so I don't really know what you want to do.
But I'd say at the very least spend some of that money on a decent meal, don't just eat mcdonalds, you can get that anywhere. There's hundreds of great restaurants (and not all of them outrageously expensive) that you could go to depending on what you like.

I'd suggest pizza in someplace. New York runs on pizza.

I'd start in lower Manhattan, and make my way north. You aren't going to do much in a day, I wouldn't bother with the unlimited subway ticket. Lots of corporations have free public attractions round NY, it's the corporate centre of the world. Just get a map and go have fun, crazy kids.
