| Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought. |

Is Obama a military leader?
Despite his senatorial history and acountability of his past and defence of his ethics and his virtues, blah blah blah. Is Obama a military leader? Is this the man people in military and ex-military will vote for? I guess this would also bring up the question as to if McCain is a military leader.

Re: Is Obama a military leader?
Judging only by what Obama says and does, I dont think he will be a military leader. He wont get military votes from those who think the war is going well, and he probably wont get votes from the others if he plans to cut military spending. McCain will most likely get the military votes simply because of his veteran status and his common republican standpoint of maintaining a strong military.

We don't need a military leader, we need a statesman. If you haven't figured that out by now, you're a moron.

"Walk softly and carry a big stick."
It would be folly to not have a close panel of military leaders and advisors. I would really like to see an Obama/Clark ticket, but unfortunately you don't get elected if you speak the truth.

I never said Obama couldn't have military advisers, I just said his first role should be that of a Statesman.
I think the US's power is more likely to be maintained if we have a guy who knows how to make use of soft power and diplomacy instead of another cowboy.

If he learned to fly a plane then spend a few years in a prison, then he'd be a great military leader like McCain.
He needs to read Sun Tzu and take it serious.

Re: Is Obama a military leader?
Most military people automatically vote republican. And since the majority of people in the US are caucasian, many of them rednecks that automatically vote republican, McCain will probably win. I think McCain could be an alright leader if he wasn't insane/angry and didn't suck Bush's asshole too much.
And I think people underestimate Obama as a military leader. They assume just because McCain was in the military that he'll be a better commander. Obama is smart, he knows if you don't suck jew dick you won't win, but at the same time he knows how to talk to the arabs/muslims. McCain seems so likely to weaken the military and the economy.
The top military commander warned that a war with Iran would be extremely stressful. McCain wants to stay in Iraq for a long time, which probably has something to do with oil, and this would be extremely stressful as well and also weaken the military and make the US vulnerable.
But you notice McCain and Obama both sucked up to La Raza, a racist brown power group. The majority of the US is caucasian so that's another reason Obama probably won't win, but eventually the mexicans will take over. It's unfortunate they want to kick out all people of European descent but they'll most likely be the ones to do away with all these stupid republican laws and the US will no longer bully everyone else with sanctions and shit if they want to legalize cannabis and have real freedoms.

He did learn to fly a plane, but not to land or takeoff. It was part of his Al Qaeda training.
