So, I think I'm going to write a novel.
I've always been an excellent writer. All through high school I considered becoming an author of some sort, journalist, short stories or whatnot. But, I mostly focused my attention on music, because I'm also a guitarist, and I'm not a bad songwriter.
For as long as I can remember I've always just imagined having conversations with people, just while I'm just daydreaming, I'll have this conversation with myself.
It just occured to me that this is a pretty useful thing, in a literary sense.
So, I'm going to write a novel, that is pretty much an exaggerated view of my life. Things I've done, things I wish I had done, or things I wish I had never done.
Any input?

Hey, go for it buddy. You never know what you can accomplish when you actually do and put a plan in motion. I'm attempting to write a short fiction novel myself.

You have to have a pretty damn interesting life to write a whole book about it. Unless your life is incredibly exciting and different the book will not sell.

Untrue.
Style is more important than content. It doesn't matter what the book is about, if it's entertaining and well written then it's easy to read. As long as there is some sort of storyline, if it's well written then people will read it/want to read it/buy it.
Go for it.

Go for it.
Hey, a woman wrote "An Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life" or something like that, which is just literally, an encyclopedia of random little tidbits from her life, her thoughts, her childhood, etc and I believe it did pretty well.
Plus, James Joyce did a pretty damn good job with "Portrait."

It'll take time to write a novel, so be prepared to schedule two or three hours a day as often as possible for writing; that is, if you want to finish in this decade
