Concealing a USP .45 Compact
Does anyone conceal a H&K USP .45 Compact? Is it easy to do, because I don't want a large gun that you can see easily. I read a story about this guy legally carrying a 9mm and walked by a table at a restaurant with a bunch of Soccer Moms, and they went crazy.
If the USP is not the gun to conceal, what do you all reccomend?

Re: Concealing a USP .45 Compact
That really depends on you. Do you have deep pockets? You can also wear an IWB holster and a loose untucked shirt (like a hawaiian shirt or something).
More importantly, do you even have a USP .45 Compact? It's kind of a CS-Fanboy sort of gun, and it's quite overpriced. I don't think of it as particularly small either. I'd go with a Glock 27 (or a Glock 30, if you have to have the .45) you'll save a couple hundred bucks for a quality concealable pistol.

Re: Concealing a USP .45 Compact
If you are set on getting a USP, which is a great gun just very expensive, and are going to conceal it go with either a 9mm or .40, you may lose that power from having a .45 but the extra magazine space is great for self-defense and don't worry about take down ability either, a 9mm or .40 will take somebody down quite effectively; not to mention the fact that when you go to the range to practice it will save you a couple bucks on ammo.

Approximately twenty percent of the time I do conceal carry a usp compact forty five.
Pocket carry -- not likely -- it is even a challenge with my G26.
I carry in a High Noon Mister Softy (IWB) -- inside the waist band.
The holster is adjusted on my belt to provide a slight forward cant.
Approximately positioned at four o'clock.
Untucked tee shirt and either jeans or shorts.
I stand approximately 5'11" and weigh approximately 160lbs and have no difficulty concealing most firearms.
Shirts are one size larger and jeans or shorts are usually two sizes larger in the waist to accommodate the firearm.
Look for a thicker belt to add additional support.

Since when does the USP use a clip?
All of mine utilize magazines.

I defend your use of the word clip. It is a term in common usage. It stems from our proud WWII vets who used the terms interchangably.
If you have a problem with using the term clip in place of magazine, you must support the Nazis! Is that it? Do you support the Nazis?

Tsk tsk. Use of clip. hoot hoot.
Anyway, Thanks for all the help. I actually do not own the USP yet, but really the deciding factor in which pistol I will purchase will be the ease of concealment.
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions!

Re: Concealing a USP .45 Compact
Thorazine has it! A thicker belt will keep the gun from slouching away from your body. An IWB holster will take care of the outline of everything but the grip and hammer(if applicable) You can use a button up shirt(no vests please!) or a baggy T shirt. A forward cant helps too. If you have excess, um, rolls around your midsection it going to push the gun away from your body.
Im 5'8 175 and I can make a fullsize 1911 almost dissappear without crazy baggy clothes.
Remember, if you can see a little bump or something sticking out from your body, thats normal. Its the outline of a grip or barrel and the way you tend to keep your arm or hand glued to your side that will give you away.

Re: Concealing a USP .45 Compact
I'm 6'1" 150 lbs and I have no problem concealing a 4" Springfield XD under a t-shirt while I'm carrying OWB(Don Hume First Agent holster).
I don't have much experience with USPs, but nearly all of my XD holsters list the USPc as an alternate fit.
So I'm assuming the XD and the USPc are about the same size.
I also plan on getting a double magazine pouch and seeing how well that works on my offside.

Re: Concealing a USP .45 Compact
Keep in mind, at least here in FL, printing doesn't even matter.
From the laws I read, you can print all you want, although you'll probably catch some problems, nothing a lawyer can't solve.
You never gave us any info on your size?
