Truth be told, I've only put about 150 round through it since it came into my posession.
And I have no way of knowing how many round the previous owner (great grandfather) put through it, so I can only make assumptions about the firearm's long term durability.
But I'd say it is a quality firearm and I've never had any problems with it except for the fact that I really can't shoot revolvers because the grip angle just doesn't feel right in my hands.
One thing I've heard though is that the Rugers are better built than the S&Ws because Ruger uses a one piece frame while the S&Ws have sideplates on the frame that are held in by screws.
