Diet Coke/Coke zero = skin problems?
Not sure if this should be in Oral Indulgences or not since it's kind of linked.
Lately I have had a few issues with acne, more so than I have ever had. As one gets older we expect this to decrease rather than increase.
The only major diet change I have made is moving from regular coke and pepsi to the diet types. Diet coke, pepsi max, coke zero. Can these artificial sweeteners cause acne issues? If anything I expected it to clear up completely not get worse than it has ever been.
My problems started around the time I made the switch so I am suspicious and trying to drink water/juice/milk only now and see how it goes. My family is generally sensitive to food and other allergens but I have been pretty lucky and tend to be exempt from them, maybe this is my kryptonite.
Can anyone offer some insight? Heard of this kind of thing before?

Cause life got a lot better when I drank soda and water all day long instead of water, and chocolate milk.
Come to think of it, I had to go to the hospital because of having too much milk in my diet.

If anything diet coke would probably be healthier than fruit juice b/c it probably has much less sugar and carbohydrates (I suppose this could be a negative as well). However, aspartame/splenda/sucrose(?) should be also be avoided. tl/dr, moderation.

Wouldn't diet coke/coke zero be worse than normal coke?
Sure normal coke has sugar, but wouldn't diet/zero have artificial sweetners? Are artificial sweetners worse?
OP, just try drinking water for a week and see what happens, worked for me.

Re: Diet Coke/Coke zero = skin problems?
Cheers guys, yeah I have taken out the coke from my diet and things seem a bit better, although after a day it's kind of hard to tell.
Perhaps it's an overall diet thing, and perhaps stress related as well. I was just curious if anyone had heard of anything similar before.

I'm not completely sure about this, but I'm pretty sure real coke doesn't even use normal sugar, it uses high fructose corn syrup which is like 100x worse for you.

Re: Diet Coke/Coke zero = skin problems?
I don;t drink any pop becuase it causes acne on me. I realized this years ago.
Humans were ment to drink water! We only started drinking other beverages around a hundred years ago. (besides wine and tea).
Coke is black sugar water with chemicals in it. It is not good of body and mind. Stick to natual stuff...
