Does anyone know about hacking the garage door, with a laptop? I saw a video done by Household hacker on youtube, that lets you hack it with the use of a laptop, but it's suspicious. Can anyone confirm that it works? Has anyone heard of or done this before?

No idea about that since garage doors probably use infrared and my computer doesn't work as a remote control.

Garage doors, older ones at least tend to work on a variety of frequencies (I think at 2.4ghz and 300mhz at least) using a code dictated by DIP switches.

Some newer ones are recoded by holding the key near the unit.

Point is, you need to know what frequency whatever it is you're trying to open operates on first.
