Marijuana leaves turning brown.
Hey, this is my first grow ever.
its all going fine, im doing an outdoor grow but the plants are sometimes covered so they may not be getting enough oxygen.
Anyway, all the leaves are a healthy green except the bottom two which are flopping (more than the others) and are turning brown.
Does anybody know whats happening?

Re: Marijuana leaves turning brown.
Cannabis is a plant, let's use some fucking common sense here from that project you did in first grade where you gave the plants different amounts of water.
What happened to the one you *didn't* give water to? Did it kinda turn brown, then shrivel up and die? But it wasn't instant. The leaves turned kinda brown first, then it started to die.
THATS WHAT YOU'RE DOING NOW YOU FUCKING IDIOT

Re: Marijuana leaves turning brown.
Yeah, Soap is right if all the leaves are turning brown; if it's just the bottom two though, it could be something else. My guesses would be either 1) those leaves are not getting any sunlight, so they don't produce glucose and the plant has now found them useless, so it's killing them off, in which case, just snip them off. 2) They may have some disease, if it's just those two leaves, you're lucky, again, just prune them off; this is less likely, and it's probably they're just getting absolutely no sun. So in short, cut of the bottom two leaves that are brown.

Wow you guys are dicks,
J-Mak, when you water your plants, are you getting those leaves at the bottom wet with direct contact with the nutrient solution? If so that will cause them to wilt and shrivel, provided that the rest of the plant looks healthy i would say you have nothing to worry about.

Re: Marijuana leaves turning brown.
I believe that if they turn yellow/brown it means they are being burned and over nourished by the sun.

update: one of the leaves has now shriveled up completely.
so these two leaves wont affect the other green leaves?
should i pluck them off?
is there something i should do to make my next plant's bottom leaves not die?

Re: Marijuana leaves turning brown.
Don't be an idiot, at a certain point is ok to loose the bottom two leaves, it will happen eventually anyway.
But that can be a sign that you are doing something wrong, like using the wrong fertilizer (too high nitrate) or simply over fertilizing them.
You should spray your plant with an atomizer to keep it nice and moist, and dont forget to water the dam thing.

Re: Marijuana leaves turning brown.
Considering he didn't mention anything about fertilizer I would assume your problem is Nitrogen deficiency. (If it's not something simpler like lack of enough water/sunlight)
If it's still in the vegetation stage (no buds) you should prolly pick up some good fertilizer with a high Nitrogen ratio. If you use some kind of all-purpose shit from the megastore, you might want to use about a 1/4 of the recommended amount.
