Paranoia and distress are not as common with pot as it is made out to be. Even if it was, adults (are supposed to) have the freedom to do what they want to their own bodies if it doesnt harm other people. And pot causes no problems for non users.

Paranoia can last as long as the high.

Why should we compare the two? They're completely different. At any rate, a large amount of alcohol has to be consumed (even in lightweight cases with no tolerance) to reach a point of alcohol poisoning, whereas just one hit of marijuana can induce paranoia. And while alcohol may get easier to drink as you drink more, it upsets the stomach, can cause vomiting and such, which is a good indicator to the person drinking that they should stop.

The Argument that Alcohol is legal while Weed isn't does not justify the legalization of weed.

Anyway, Weed should be legal. If you check the other countries that have it legalized - Belgium, Amsterdam, etc. - you can see that they have the safest communities and economies.

If weed were made legal it would be treated like alcohol. If you smoke you don't drive. It's not that hard. You would get DUI just like you do with Alcohol. Of course people would break the law but people do anyway so why not make some money on it?
