LSD Incredible First Trip
Well, I had been wanting to take a psychadelic, other than weed, for a really long time. I hooked up with a veteran acid taking friend of mine and he agreed to get me some tabs. A few days later, he gave me 2 double-dipped tabs in a neat little foil square. I carryed them home, put them in a book (ironically a Van Morrison biography), and immediately forgot about them.
About a week later, while skating, I super-twisted my ankle and was in great pain. I went home, and I couldn't go to sleep because of it. I remembered reading some of the FAQ's about LSD that said it was used as a painkiller. I went to the book, opened it up to page 13 and dug out my tabs. I checked the time on the clock. 11:16 pm. I popped the two tabs underneath my tongue and switched my iPod on to listen to some classic Bob Marley and the Wailers to get me in the right mood. 10 minutes later, my iPod died...Leaving me with a dark, ominous room and no cheerful music. I checked myself to make sure I didn't start panicking, then I calmy sat on my bed, half-terrified, half-excited about what was going to take place.
I sat there for an hour. Nothing happened.
I got up to go to the bathroom, wondering if the tabs (long swallowed and somewhere in my digestive track) were fakes. When I switched on the light to the bathroom, everything seemed different. Different in a way I couldn't put a finger on. Everything seemed to be much much bigger! It was as if I was wearing someone else's glasses.
I didn't give it much thought.
After finishing my business in the bathroom, I washed up my hands and turned towards the door. The tiles on the floor caught me eye. They were undulating like an ocean. I watched the tiles in amazement as each one imitated small waves of water moving through the floor. I broke myself away from this spectacle and looked at the wall. The wall in the bathroom is a weirdish beige colour, but it has these grey swirls in it. Through my acid-changed mind, the grey swirls swam around on the wall, seemingly jumping off the wall about a foot.
I was getting very excited by now. The feeling I got was as if I'd won the lottery, combined with a feeling of utter accomplishment. I felt as if I was beginning an adventure to explore the very secrets of life itself.
I knew the mirror was behind me. I've heard all sorts of horror stories about mirrors and acid, but I felt competently prepared for it, so I turned my gaze upon the one above the sink. My face seemed to contort slightly. My hair seemed to grow until I looked like I had a mane. I blinked and my hair went back to normal. My eyes started changing shades of colour, from white to blue to orange to purple to green. FInally, they went back to brown. My ears grew pointed like an elf's. This gave me great satisfaction, so I decided to leave the mirror before anything went wrong.
I turned off the light in the bathroom, plunging myself into blackness.
I walked the few steps down the hall, back to my room.
When I arrived in my room, everything seemed different. I had plugged in an old lava lamp I found (in preparation for the trip) that changed back and forth between all the colours in the spectrum. My brain told me my room was now a space station. I layed down on my bed, suddenly becoming aware of the shaking I was doing. I thought I was cold, so I covered up with my black comforter. I looked down towards my legs, and the folds of the comforter became a sea of faces. Some smiling, some with wretched eyes and mouths, seemingly screaming. I smiled at them, ignored what bad vibes there were and looked at my ceiling.
The entire ceiling was dancing, the multi-coloured hues of light thrown upon it by the lava lamp. The pain in my ankle completely gone and forgotten, I stared and stared at this wondrous site.
Then the noises kicked in.
At first I thought someone was awake and coming towards my room. I closed my eyes and catapulted myself right into the depths of my mind. The noises changed from odd laser sounds to sounds you'd find a little child making on a keyboard. Random, nonsense sounds that seemed to vibrate me to the very core. The sound quickly took shape as words and ideas. I visualized the words floating behind my eyelids, covered in bizzare and ever-changing patterns. Leopard skin, scales, anything and everything my mind could come up with, the words were textured with.
The words rose in my head to become sentences, sentences from the past, spoken my teachers, parents, friend and relatives. It seemed as if multiple people I knew were all standing in the room with me, invisible, but audible.
I opened my eyes.
Raising my eyelids, the room exploded in a burst of fire-work colour. The bright burst quickly went away as my pupil's got used to the light. My dresser, made of stained wood, seemed to be made out of a moving mass of faces. I wondered what the ramifications were of all this face-tripping I was going through. I wondered, for only one second, whether or not inanimate objects were actually more animate than humans themselves, but on a different plane of consciousness. I shook these deeply disturbing and profound thoughts off.
I looked out my room window towards the backyard of my next door neighbor. A tree in her backyard seemed to be hiding someone. Someone was hiding behind it and I got a terrible feeling that they were waiting for me. The shadow's projected by the tree made a figure, ghostlike and black, with a scythe. My acid-infected mind supposed that this was actually Death itself, waiting for me, always lurking close enough to get me, but invisible normally. I underwent a chilling series of revelations because of this before I broke myself away from the awful sight. I didn't panic however.
I looked at my neighbor's garage, surprised to see an enormous 8-bit frog twitching up and down on it. The frog changed, glowing with colours as it jumped up and down. I looked up into the trees beside the garage. I saw an emormous viking made out of shadows hefting an axe. It was looking straight at me, it's head the size of a house. I remembered not to panic and quickly eased myself out of what fear I had. I told myself that it was just a tree. Just a tree.
Then I saw the tarantula. Three stories high, enormous. Its mandibles working furiously like it wanted to digest me. I looked at the clock. 1:30 am. I stared back at the tarantula, making myself face my fears. I stared for almost 5 whole minutes to assure myself that I was mentally strong, then I turned away from the window and started down my stairs.
I descended the stairs into pure blackness, feeling like a cave miner going on a solo mission. I was excited and happy though. I felt like I was going where few humans had gone before. I walked into the pitch-black kitchen, forgetting to turn on the light. I looked out of the kitchen window, seeing it stretch away from me as if I was moving backwards. The cupboards seemed to have a life of their own, breathing and making sounds. I looked closer, seeing yet MORE faces in the woodwork. I just then remembered to turn on the light.
With the light on, the tiles on the floor once again caught my attention. These particular tiles are cream coloured with grey swirls in them, kind of like the top of a marbelized cheesecake. The floor swam with a sea of ghosts. Small ghosts, large ghosts, ghosts with no faces, ghosts screaming in pain. The floor seemed like a prison, entrapping the ghosts and imprisoning them for all eternity. I stopped and had several deep thoughts.
Food. I was getting rather hungry.
I looked on top of the white refrigerator, spying a large bag of Boston Baked Beans. I took them down and set them on the counter. I opened up the bag and took just one out. I was about to pop it in my mouth when I suddenly realized that this Boston Baked Bean I was holding was the Milky Way. Or so my acid-brain seemed to think.
I stared at the Milky Way for the longest time, being transported through space, having the equivalent of a lucid daydream, all while standing there and looking at the bean. Thoughts, ideas and theories all flashed through my head, the depth of which was incalcuable. I stood this way for awhile, feeling the power of the Milky Way Galaxy in my hand, feeling everyone, everything, every piece of matter in our universe in my palm. I felt like crying and also like shouting with joy at the same time. I just stood. Just...being.
My sober mind kicked in and told me to eat the bean, since it was, just that, a bean. I popped it in my mouth and chewed vigorously. The bean tasted like nothing I've ever had before, not even the other bag of beans I ate the day prior.
The kitchen seemed to grow.
The kitchen seemed to shrink.
I left the kitchen and its size-shifting behind, heading back upstairs for my room.
By this time, I was getting sick and nauseaus from staying up too late. I walked back to my room, shaing like a leaf in the wind. When I layed back down, I had the intention of going to sleep. I closed my eyes, only to be assaulted by multitudes of flashing geomatric patterns, colourful lines and sentence fragments from the past.
I panicked.
I am trapped, I thought. I can't go to sleep. I'll trip forever. Every day, assaulted by acid with no chance of rest.
I started to lose my mind.
I took a few deep breaths and weighed out the situation, trying to think in a logical mind-set. This acid would only last 7 hours. With more than 5 hours of my trip accomplished, I only had to make it through 2 more hours.
The next two hours I spent floating in a sea of obnoxious noise, distracting visuals and colour.
The door to my mom's bedroom opened and I heard her boyfriend walk out. I panicked slightly, then realized he was getting ready for work. I shut my eyes tight, pretending to be asleep as he used the restroom down the hall. Minutes stretched into hours. All my sense were being assaulted by LSD as I tryed to wait out his departure for work. The last thing I remember is an accurate and complete reenaction of some argument I had with a teacher 4 years ago. It replayed through my mind, haunting me as I feigned sleep, only to accidently get it.
I woke up an hour later, completely back to normal, my muscles a little sore. My mom tapped my shoulder and told me it was time for school. I felt completely exhausted, and although the pain in my ankle was gone, I told her that I was hurting bad and needed a day off school. I feel back alseep.
I woke up five hours later, threw out the square of tinfoil and made myself a cup of tea.
I read Pet Semetary by Stephen King, my mind wandering, rehashing the events of the night before.

Re: LSD Incredible First Trip
alright, first off, excellent trip report, and when you were talking about your experience with the milky way that sounds incredibly like one of my trips where i thought i was the ying and yang of the universe and i could control everything. it feels really eerie to think that every little thing you do will have some sort of effect somewhere else, its almost awe-inspiring. thats bad ass that you had a good solo trip for it being your first trip, but it always helps if you get some really clean acid.

I love this. That is THE best thing I have ever read about drugs. I seem to understand you well. I feel even more ready for my own first time with LSD, so thanks for that.

Re: LSD Incredible First Trip
I didn't want to make a new thread for this, and I don't mean to hijack. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, or hear "g3t r3@l drugz n00b", but does anybody ever realize things they wouldn't realize sober while on a high dose DXM trip? The trips always seem too fuzzy to me to get anything out of it, although I do feel like I can think clearer while I'm on it. It just seems that whenever I am sober I feel like any theory or idea that I thought of was a dream, even though it made perfect sense at the time. I hope this post makes sense.

Wow, that was a wonderful post. It makes me want to open my mind and experience a psychedelic. I saw a show on the History Channel over LSD and a Harvard student said he thought everyone should have atleast one psychedelic experience in their life.

Timothy Leary...
Was it Leary that said that? I thought it was a student but I can't recall.
I walked past the psychology department at Harvard, it was awesome.
By the way, does anyone know what the MIT Psychedelics team is? My friend who goes to college in Boston claims he saw a poster through the window of MIT that said MIT Psychedelics Team '95 or something like that.

Re: LSD Incredible First Trip
Double dipped acid is bullshit, it picks up all the acid it needs on it's first run. Any dealer saying double dipped is bullshitting you.
That said, I love acid. But last time I kind of thought I was in hell...
