anyone have experience with this?
July 19th, which is today for me, at about 3:30 in the morning my friend and I were driving to the gas station right outside of my town and got pulled over by a New Jersey State Trooper. To make a a long story short, I got a ticket for just driving after midnight. I am not allowed to drive after midnight because I'm 17 and still have my restricted license.
I got a ticket for that and something else one other time and they sent me papers in the mail, but one of them I had to appear in court for so I don't know if that's why.
My question to you totse is do you think they'll send me something to my house in the mail about the ticket? I can't let my parents find out. I have no problem with paying the 48$ ticket which I'm about to do now online since it was obviously my fault, I just can't let my parents find out,
I hope someone can help me out here so I don't have to attempt to get the mail every day.
Thanks in advance to anyone.

If you're paying it online, then something should come in the mail.

Re: anyone have experience with this?
Expect mail. Just explain it to your parents:
"We weren't drinking, we weren't doing drugs, we were just getting gas."
Unless your parents are utter dicks there won't be a problem.

Re: anyone have experience with this?
I'm not complaining that I have to pay the fine, I just can't have them find out. Brand new car too.
I didn't pay it yet just so I could see peoples responses.
I'm going to look into paying it through the mail or maybe just going down to the station and paying it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try to pay in person. If you can't, steal the mail key.

Re: anyone have experience with this?
I don't know about Jersey, but I've never received anything in the mail for my three tickets. But we don't have a curfew thing either, at least not where I am. I've also just gone to the station and paid it. Just go pay it in person and ask if they are going to send any correspondence or if everything is taken care of. It shouldn't be a problem if you pay online either.

Re: anyone have experience with this?
Since when is it illegal to drive after midnight? I know it probably is for due to your past mistakes or whatever, but the cop didn't know that shit. Or did he? You got bigger problems my friend. Or should I say you have bigger problems with your friends. Their fucking narcs, bro. I suggest murder/suicide.

Did you not see he said it was a restricted license?
Some states put certain restrictions on drivers under 18.
Now I don't know about NJ, but where I live they always send something in the mail. Not only that, but if you're under 18, they require the parents to show up in court or otherwise acknowledge the ticket.

The cop didn't know the driver was under the age of 18.

How can that be? I thought most states now have DL's that say when a person will be 18 and when they'll be 21 to make it easier for people selling alcohol and tobacco products.

I meant before he pulled him over. Driving past the hour of midnight is no reason to pull someone over. So he was probably speeding, or actually was intoxicated, in which case, deal with the consequences op.

Move to Illinois. Then you'll stop bitching about your massive $48 fine.

Re: anyone have experience with this?
Lol you guys are fucking stupid.
But anyway, go monday to pay the ticket in person, then and only then, will you know if they will send something in the mail. If it was a real ticket, very thin yellow paper that you signed, you are probably good. Best way is to check your state laws.

Re: anyone have experience with this?
Some of you need to shut the fuck up. I'm not fucking bitching about the fine. I'll pay that in a second,
The reason that he pulled me over was because he couldn't see my plates because it was a new car and i had that temporary paper one in the window. He saw my age when he requested my information and since it was a violation of a provisional license, he wrote me a ticket. In NJ there are restrictions on a license if you are age 17. You get your real license at age 18 and your permit at 16.
As I stated before, I'm not complaining about the ticket. I just wanted to know if they would somehow contact my parents or if I could just go down to the court and pay it myself without them knowing,
*For the person who asked im in the 973 area code. I don't really want to put my exact town. Northern NJ though.
