I wear contact lenses and smoke alot.

Last night, I got a second wind around 1 am and woke up, and smoked a cigarette, occuring to me this was probly the first time ive smoked without my contacts in. The smoke hurt my eyes pretty bad. like it was really acrid . never like that with contacts in.

So am I insane? or do contacts shield the eyes from smoke?

a second wind is like, ur tired at 6 pm. u drive around some and eat something, smoke something. then when 9pm rolls around youre wide awake.

its like being tired, then not tired in the same day, but the expression doesnt apply when naps or sleep are involved.

No, contacts do not shield your eyes from the smoke. They're air permeable, to let your eyes breathe.

If you're looking down at your cig while it's lit and there's smoke drifting up into your face then yeah.. chances are it'll sting. Common sense. Keep it away from your face next time.

You know, I've never smoked anything with out my contacts in. That's really cause I've worn them for 5 years and I never take them out.

I haven't worn the same ones for 5 years... I change them every 2 - 3 weeks.
