Its a psychoactive drug that halts addictions, especially to opiates.

I haven't tried it personally, but I had done some extensive research on it before and apparently it is VERY helpful. Especially if you do it in a controlled environment with the intention of getting rid of your addiction. Read experiences on erowid, that should give you an idea. I've only heard positive things as far as addiction goes.

Iboga does a lot of interesting things, it seems. If you are interested, check out a book called "Breaking Open the Head" by Daniel Pinchbeck.

I don't think it is a very pleasurable experience, but it does work for a lot of people with drug problems.
