Kinda, if people know you real well, they might notice a change in your behavior. Also cocaine addicts sniff a lot and have red nostrils, and are very edgy

Yeah it sounds about as easy to conceal as weed, but if you smoke it (some like it better that way) or maybe make some crack, it's far easier since the sniffling and red noses disappear. If you're not around your family much anyway it shouldn't be too difficult.

Yeah then I guess it would depend on the scope of the addiction.

this. someone high on weed is much more noticeable than someone who's high on cocaine. with cocaine, obviously you are working/thinking faster, your eyes a bit more awake, there's a constant sniffing tendency (which i think people can minimize greatly if they wanted to), and one might find you talk a lot. however, same can happen with one too many energy drinks. but yeah dude, unless you don't give a fuck, you can discreetly be a cokehead in front of your family if they are gullible fucks. i know that wouldn't be the case in front of your friends, though.

As long as you aren't terribly addicted and can go without it for a while it's not hard to hide.

My moms walked into my room before while i was chopping up a line, I just covered it up with a magazine (I was racking lines on my desk) and acted like i was doing something on my computer. I half expected the sniffles to give it away but looking back on it there wasn't much reason for her to suspect anything.

My boy was a coke addict since the age of 15(been doing it for over 3 years), and his parents never found out until they took him to the doctor and then realized that he had no septum left. So yea, in the end, your parents will find out. I guess the only answer is just not to do coke or wait till you move out to your own place

Yea it really depends on how big of an "addict" you are. I personally don't happen to know any cokeheads that are still well, cokeheads. But I mean, will the whole sniffing a lot thing, I always say that my allergies are acting up. If anyone ever asks me about stuff like that, which is rare, I just act kind of bewildered and say like, "I have no idea, but it's bugging me really bad, maybe it's blah blah blah". It's really not that hard to get away with shit, you just have to be smart and watch your back somewhat. But as far as a full-blown addiction goes, that might be pretty hard to keep hidden, I mean I know people that are hooked hardcore on opiates, and their parents don't know, but yay-yo might be a different story. But asking if you can be a cokehead and not have anyone know is a pretty dumb question, no offense, simply just because of course there's at least ONE person in this world that has pulled it off.

haha, my parents came *THIS* close to catching me with coke before they ever caught me with anything. I was 15 and had been smoking for about a year, but they had no idea about that. I had cut a line on my keyboard tray and was just leaning down to sniff it up, and my mom opened the door. I pushed the tray with the line under the desk and acted like I was surfing the net, and it wasn't a problem. It was really fucking close.

i'm on coke right now. as long as they dont find the shit or catch you in the act then its easy as hell to hide. but if you live with them, eventually they are gonna find your yayo/razor blades/snooters/dead coke whores.

I've kept up drug habits for years without anyone knowing. I've never done coke because it doesn't interest me (not really into a lot of things that are "uppers") so I can't answer your question specifically but I can in a general sense.

I think it has to do with a certain level of maturity and self-control (i.e. not having a big mouth about it, not blowing all your money, pawning your shit, leaving paraphernalia around, still keeping up with work and friends, not doing so much when you know you have to be around close friends/family, knowing when to cut back a little when it is affecting health noticeably, etc.).

Theoretically you can cover up an addiction. It all depends on your level of self control.

I was able to hide my heroin addiction for 15 years. I held down a high paying job and nobody ever had a clue there was a drug addiction there.

But I have a lot of self control. I was able to quit heroin after 15 years by myself and not many can do that.

You don't even have to know someone that well to notice drastic differences in their behavior if they're 'closet' coke heads. From my experience, frequent and excessive use turns you into an edgy, sometimes aggressive, and secretive person.
In fact, I've noticed that one of the traits of coke addicts (like all addicts I suppose) is the denial that they have a problem. But not only that, coke heads seem to take it to a new level: you'll be having a perfectly normal evening - just watching TV or something - and they'll frequently run off to the bathroom/darkened room to have a line or two. When questioned, and despite their incessant sniffing and rubbing of their nose/gums, they'll make up some bullshit excuse about bowl problems/wanting to be alone to avoid the topic of their, ironically, favorite thing in the world!!!

Coke's a fucked up drug. Stick to nicer things that you can recover from. I find the best drugs are the ones that put you off frequent indulgence - like mushrooms or mdma.

There are "High functioning addicts".

People who manage their addictions very well and can lead normal or even exceptional lives. Coke addicts are often somewhat obvious and easy to pick out, though.

If you can afford to keep the habit up and know how to keep it under wraps, I suppose it'd be possible.

Haha same, I remember the first time my parents caught me I left my bud in my pants on the floor in my room before I went out. My mom picked me up later and wouldn't let me drive home (I had my learners permit at the time), that was how I knew something was wrong, she then asked me what I thought she could have found in my pants, I sat there for a second and proceeded to start laughing. They ended up getting over it a lot sooner then I thought they would.

They've caught me a few times since then (it was like 2 years ago) but I don't think they really care anymore. If they caught me with something other then herb though I'm sure it would be a very different story.
