Dune is so fucking overrated, but I agree with Ender's Game -- although personally I prefer Ender's Shadow, which follows Bean during the same time period on the same space station. That little guy's smart as hell.

Hermann Hesse:
*Steppenwolf
*Narziss und Goldmund
*Gertrude

The two latter ones I found especially useful in learning about being an artist. Recommend for anyone interested in creating art, whatever form.

I see you've put in a few non-fictions, despite the thread title, so..

The Revolution of Everyday Life by Raoul Vaneigem
True Hallucinations and The Archaic Revival by Terence McKenna

I think the idea of a forum is kind of that everyone puts in their unique perspective and an observer reads the thread as an amalgamation of ideas and thus, a slightly more culturally objective whole. But whatever..

  • Michael Crichton's Next, Prey, and Andromeda Strain
  • Chuck Palahniuk's Choke, Rant, and Survivor
  • Dean Koontz's Whispers
  • Nicholas Evan's The Loop
  • Max Brooks' World War Z

Regarding clichés, I might as well suggest Eragon, Eldest, and the Harry Potter series. All of those aren't half-bad, but I'm not one to critique books.
