Default Post Your Wheels

I haven't seen one of these threads for a while so I figured I'd make a new one.
I still have the II as some of you will remember but I've done a decent amount of work to it since the last thread

All the pictures I have can be found here

I plan on upgrading the suspension, adding a 4 bbl Holley 390 CFM carburetor and eventually porting the head for more power. Then in goes a Ford 9" rear end, T5 world class transmission with upgraded internals, then when I get a higher paying job or gas prices come down, a built 331 stroker.
What are you guys driving these days?

I myself am not driving anything, haven't driven a car in almost 3 months since crashing my truck. but i've had the itch to put something together and i've got a rotted out shell of a jeep CJ7 but its not worth redoing. so i've come up with a new plan, i'm going to buy a cheap jeep wrangler (87-95) and put my CJ7 front clip on it and put my cj7 dash in it. both go on with minor modifications and then i have a wrangler that most people wouldn't be able to tell wasn't a cj7. but yet i still have all the modern convienences, better suspension, air conditioning, power brakes, better heater, better frame, fuel injection, ext ext... so hopefully in a few weeks thats what my wheels will be. maybe when i get to it i'll make a big write up. anyways just thought i would share.

Pretty sure it was as early as '73. Will look it up.

...1974, to be precise.

1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia. 1.9L Wasserboxer. Slow. Useful. Sturdy. Comfortable. It's going to take me across North America. No, I'm not a hippy, though I do have long hair and smoke weed, but the former is because I listen to heavy metal and the latter is because I'm from BC.

My previous car that I miss alot:

Somebody brought a red 86 N/A in today. I shed a tear when I got behind the wheel because I wanted my beautiful dark green/rust car back

I swear to god, the Porsche 911 better be all that it's cracked up to be whenever I get one, because otherwise I'm buying another AW11

The Mustang II was produced from 1974 - 1978, but some cars had build dates as early as April 1973. "II" is shorthand for "Mustang II" when talking with other II owners. Almost all of us say it that way.

1985 VW Vanagon Westfailure. 1.9L waterboxer, lol whut?. Slow. Useful. Sturdy. Comfortable. AND THE UGLIEST THING IN THE WORLD, EVER.It's going to take me across North America. No, I'm not a hippy, though I do have long redhair and smoke weed So I'm kinda more like Dave Mustaine in that respect, but the former is because I listen to heavy metal and also lots of prime cuts of power metaland the latter is because I'm from BC.

I know you're on an anti-VW streak right now, many of you aussies inexplicably are, but everything you've said on the subject is a biased load of shitberries plucked right from the idiocy tree. Seeing you attempt to start a good 'ol fashioned flamewar over the fact that some of us like Volkswagens reminds me of when I was a teenager, first posting here. I would see others posting about american cars and I would get all hot under the collar and go paint the forum red because I couldn't believe how all these idiots liked all these poor-handling, badly made shitboxes made by faggot-ass trigger happy yanks that should all be wiped from the earth along with all their shitty chrysler products! Oh sure, deep within me I still harbour such feelings, but I'm a little older and a fuckload wiser now.

My point is if this is how you react every time you see a VW, then I'm surprised you aren't still in school. Grow up man, VW's work just as well as any other car and you bloody well know it, your mind is just so closed you just don't want to accept it. It's the same with everyone and their biases, just as I've come to accept that old Dodge K-cars are reliable and Chevrolet can build a car that handles well, you should save us all alot of grief and accept the fact that despite their unconventional designs, Volkswagens do exactly what they're built to do and they are a source of joy amongst many millions worldwide, whether you like it or not.

...unless, you want to start shit, in which case prepare for a friendly little war

edit: notice I skipped the other bits about heavy metal. At least we can agree on something \m/
