I'm becoming emotionless.
So, for the past seven years or so, I haven't felt sad.
Now I've stopped smiling and feeling happy as well. I wonder what is going to happen to me.
My girlfriend started noticing that my facial expressions are getting almost unnoticeable,
and now I'm forcing them on, feels quite weird when you have to think about smiling when something good happens,
and it doesn't come naturally.
This makes me look too happy, or too sad... Even tho I don't feel either way.
Any ideas?

Re: I'm becoming emotionless.
You sound like your depressed, I'm not a doctor or anything but I've seen quite a few depressed people in my day and that seems like one of the symptoms.

Re: I'm becoming emotionless.
Yes, apathy is a sign of depression. It's the most likely thing, especially if you feel bored constantly... you may want to get some testing done to know for sure. there may also be a malformation in your brain, or maybe even a tumor. Hopefully not, and it's unlikely, anyways.

You'll just need more stimulation. If you skin a cat alive, you will definetly will feel something.

Re: I'm becoming emotionless.
I got like that for a few months after I lost my best friend. It kind of sucked, but then again the entire situation did at the time.
Anyway, sounds like you're mildly depressed. Not quite sad, but not happy either. See a doctor?

Re: I'm becoming emotionless.
Sounds like a personality disorder, and you're dissociating from your life. This would generally be due to lack of positive reinforcement from involvement in your life.

Maybe that means you are starting to use your brain.

Ive been emotionless for long.
Almost the only things I felt were excitement (I cant actually call it happiness), adrenaline and anger.
Now, since my mission failed absolutely miserably, I just had to open up my mind. When you have one single objective and you base your life on it, there is no much to do if you fail.
You are left with two chances, either you open up your mind and just let fate bring what it will, or admit its the end and drive your car off a cliff.
Being that I am the last male of my family, I went for the first one. And to give my life a better flavor I started doing thinigs, smoking, tried hash and stuff.
Again, I am able to feel happiness, empathy and stuff.
Revenge is still my favorite feeling.

Re: I'm becoming emotionless.
TWO THINGS!
A) You could be having a Fight Club thing and need to form some form of real stimulation (Eg. Fighting)
B) You could use being emotionless as a gift, and use it to kill people with no guilt ^_^

Fuck, welcome to life.
Get on some antidepressants and you will feel like a fucking zombie 24/7.
Depersonalization, no feelings, loss of self, but you don't feel sad.

Re: I'm becoming emotionless.
You must ask yourself if it is truly a bad thing; think of all of the people that are not 'emotionless', see how they hurt, do you really want to feel that? Sometimes not feeling at all is better than feeling the things that so many do.
