Recommend Me Folk Rock(?)
I think folk rock is the right term but I'm not sure. I've been listening to a few bands and I'm not sure if you would call it folk rock but that's all I could think of. I like bands such as The Snake The Cross The Crown, Cassino(Northstar break-off), and Band Marino. I'm not really aware of this genre. Please give me some more material. Thanks. Also if it isn't called folk rock or if I'm in a completely different genre, let me know.

Re: Recommend Me Folk Rock(?)
Agalloch's album "Ashes against the grain" is considered 'Folk metal', and I think it kicks ass.
So, check it out, I guess.
Warning: I didn't check out any of the links you put up, so excuse me if it is really not what you are looking for.

Re: Recommend Me Folk Rock(?)
^ good list, at least from the ones I recognize, some of it doesn't have any rock influence at all though
Other worthwhile stuff:
Incredible String Band (#1)
Byrds + Gene Clark solo
'60s solo Van Morrison if you haven't heard him -- Astral Weeks is one of the best
Ian & Sylvia
Bob Pegg
Atila - International Sandwich LP
Muck Groh - Muckefuck, folk-influenced krautrock
earlyish Ghost, weird Jap psych but a lot of psychedelic folky stuff
Ferris Wheel - Supernatural Girl... electric stoner folk
Rainy Day LP, collab cover album from '80s L.A. neo-psychrock scene... amazing version of Neil Young's "On the Way Home" and Big Star's "Holocaust"
some stuff from The Beat of the Earth, second half of Electronic Hole LP
Most of this isn't similar to the stuff you mentioned though, OP. Check out the Grateful Dead for that kinda vibe, not my style

Re: Recommend Me Folk Rock(?)

Re: Recommend Me Folk Rock(?)
Dude everything recommended above, except for the "folk metal" guy, is top-notch good shit, much of it in the realm of folk-rock or at least related to it. If you just want a list of well-known generic folk rock bands just go to allmusic.com or rateyourmusic.com or Wikipedia or Google, etc.
You even listen to anything posted here? You would definitely at least dig the Byrds based on the myspaces you posted, and they're a decent gateway to this kind of folk based world. Listen to their album Sweetheart of the Rodeo, it's right up your alley.

Re: Recommend Me Folk Rock(?)
Ya I did listen to it. I got about half way through both of your list, it was to folky, I guess I'm looking for more rock infused with folk. I'll give the byrds a better listen. Also none of the bands I linked to I would consider generic or well known.

Billy Bragg. I like the stuff where it's just him and his guitar.
