Long story short, i dropped my cell in the sink, it died, i started ripping it apart, came to the li-ion battery, decided to cut it open with a pair of side cutters, got halfway, and it got so fucking hot i dropped it and got acid on some paper, so i picked it up with the paper (really fucking hot now) and threw it out my window into the trees by my house.

1. why did it get really fucking hot?

2. will my forest catch fire?

1) Reaction of chemicals in the battery. (Why the fuck would you cut it open?!)
2) Not likely.

For safety reasons: Put on some gloves (rubber, preferably), and fill a double-layered plastic bag with sand/soil -- as much as you can fit into it. Then take the battery, put it into the middle, and bury it about a foot underground, or stick it in a bucket (or any metal or glass container) and put it in your basement, shed, garage, etc.

Heres a story...
3 in the morning, a d battery, and a very high toiletwand.
I started peeling the label off, i got it all off, I pryed open one end, I got almost half the acid in my left eye. It also burned away a small patch of skin. I went to hospital and I can still see :O
