Stray cat becoming House cat
There is this kitten that is living on our porch and I was considering bringing it in and making it a house cat. It is extremely friendly and playful, I'll post some pictures later on. I'm sure this question is asked so much but I'm trying to get an idea of when I decide to take the kitten to the vet, what all I should get done along with everything that is required. Quite honestly this would be my first cat so I do not know much about how to go about adopting this kitten.

Actually we got a cheap litter box and it goes nowhere but there so I dont think that would be a problem of even letting it out.

We got our cat a litter box because during winter because it didnt like to go out when it was raining, it never goes out anymore. Its pretty lazy.

That's how I got my cat, too. He ended up adapting really well. Just make sure to take it to the vet and make sure it doesn't have any parasites or sicknesses and get it vaccinated. Spaying/neutering it is probably a good idea, too.

I heard that some vets will cut you a bit of a break with some stuff if it is a rescued animal that you intend to care for, anyone have any experience with that?

Re: Stray cat becoming House cat
My friend got his cat the same way. We called it Stu Cat. It would come chill on his porch long before he let it in.
It was ultra friendly, and a real chill cat. He would always leave food and water out for it, so I guess that's why it kept coming around. Now it goes inside/leaves as it pleases. A real fucking cool cat.
I hope you are successful in aclimating your cat to a indoors home life.
