"Water Curing"
I was talking to my friend the other day, and apparently, she has taken up the act of water curing her weed. She sticks it into water for a while (IIRC, a week) and it supposedly makes the chlorophyll leave the weed, making it healthier to smoke (Who knew chlorophyll was unhealthy). I called bull and claimed it would only make the weed less potent, since THC isn't completely insoluable in water, as well as promote mold growth while it dries. Was I wrong to be so against it? Do any of you do it, and if so, why? Any proof either way? It all just seems like a load of crap to me.

Re: "Water Curing"
The water cure has only recently come to light as a widely accepted form of curing (mostly because of this thread). Water curing uses osmosis to flush out the chemicals, chlorophyl, pesticides, pests, and anything else you would rather not be smoking. The water cure is also very fast (about 7 days) with optimal quality (as compared to 30 days air curing), and as well does not stink like an air cure does. Water-cured buds are also more potent than air-cured (however there is proportional weight loss to potency increase).
THC is not water soluable, and the bud is protected from air/light, enabling potency to be maintained at it's highest levels, while the nasty chemicals are flushed out. Some growers report being able to add nutes all the way up to their harvest date because the water cure takes care of the built up chemicals.
Because of its speed, stealth and clean taste, water cure is very inviting to most non-commercial growers. The commercial grower might not be attracted to the water cure, as the weight of the bud is diminished.
Water cure can also be attractive to those smoking/cooking with suspect cannabis (schwag), moldy bud, pest infested bud, unflushed bud, etc.

This.
Why point out what everyone knew already?
No need to paraphrase when the question is already answered, in detail, from another board.
You so silly.

Re: "Water Curing"
..for the loss.
Loses the smell, bag appeal, and color - but it's hits real smooth, or that's what I've heard.
If you fuck it up you'll have moldy weed on your hands.
curing in jars > water cure
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Re: "Water Curing"
get a dehydrator that you can keep the heat really low to off with just air moving through it... if you get the water off fast enough you shouldnt have much to worry about as far as molding...
apparently it reduces the taste, smell, and general appearance but increases the potency for the weight lost in the shit that has disolved... as long as you dry it quickly in a dark ventilated place it shouldnt mold before it dries...

Re: "Water Curing"
I prefer to cure in jars, any day, any time.
But if stealth is more of a concern, water curing is the way to go.
You WILL loose taste, flavor and smell of the herb, but you will still get high.
