so i was walking to my friends house from just smoking some weed in my house and i had my glass bowl it with me. so i wreaked of bud and there were these bike cops coming my way. i kept walking all red eyed and they fucking stopped me. they asked me if i have any drugs on me or anything, i said no. they asked me to empty my pockets and i took out my bowl, they started laughing and took it, looked at it for a bit, then put it on the ground. then they said words that i will never forget.... "SMASH IT"
i didnt want to, but they threated to take me to the station for possession of paraphernalia...so i smashed it and shed a tear.
and they left laughing
ive had only good times with that bowl, some of the best times of my life....now no more can come

I've lost a total of $260 in paraphernalia to the cops. They always just take the shit, no smashing involved.

4 people I know were in the car smoking, and when they were done they put all the shit in a hallowed out axe can. They get pulled over and the cop says he knows they have weed. They were on the side of the road by the banks of a lake and the cop said chuck it. They do and return later, it missed the lake by about 1 foot so luckily they got all of it back. Basically where I live the cops get paid pretty well and have real crimes to deal with so they don't really care if we have weed/alcohol in the car as long as the driver isn't shitfaced. Although a friend of mine got pulled over, blew a .03 and the cop just let him go and he was 17.

Still, lucky. You lied to them, so technically, it could've been a lot worse. Besides, pipes aren't that expensive, unless it was some hand-blown imported thing...

its not the money, it was the meaning of that pipe that counted. it was give to me by a friend who moved away and i had my first toke with him with that pipe.

Cops can't detain you like that for no reason, just answer them and walk away next time.

Only in America buddy. Us Australians don't have that privilege. My brother explicitly told two cops that he did not consent to a search; and that he didn't wish to speak to them. They flat out did not care, and proceeded to search and detain him. All within the officer's rights down here. Down here they can search you/your property, or arrest/detain you without a warrant, and without reasonable suspicion.

Anyway, enough about Australian law. I've had very similar experiences with cops. They've made me throw bags of weed (small quantities) into garbage bins, and one cop also made me crush an ecstasy pill on the road with my shoe (beats getting a possession charge though). Cops also routinely make minors tip out bottles of alcohol here, too. I saw this one kid getting harassed by a cop, the cop pulls a bottle of vodka out of this kid's bag, hands it to him, and makes him pour the thing out.

they really cant search you without probable cause, they dont have it unless they see something incriminating. So when they said they were gonna search you, you should have just asked for probable cause, they wouldnt have had any and you would have walked away, because you didnt know the law your pipe is broken. you fucked up.

Oh well, I'm usually the sober one when we go out, so I carry everything. Never had a cop search me before though, I can usually talk my way out of most situations.

Americans are ignorant of the law and of their own rights. Most of us don't KNOW that police have limits.

On april 1, of this year I literally got robbed by baltimore city cops. I was going to buy some dope in the city but that's besides the point. I haden't even gotten what I came for so I had nothing on me. But I was a white boy in a dope neighborhood, so, they took the $237 I had in my pocket and told me to stay of there "beat". God I hate fucking cops. Oh yeah, April fools huh? I was hoping the whole time that they were walking away that they would say "april fools" and would give me my money back. No such luck.

im not a fucking idiot i did say i dont consent to a search but they said i smelled like bud and as i tried to walk away they were gonna call down more officers or some shit. they dont give a fuck if they have permission or not. they can make up all these bullshit stories and its the cops word against mine in court.

yes, it was 2 years ago on 420, I was with a group of friends and we bought some beer, we sorta split up into 2 groups, 2 guys were walking about a block ahead of us and we saw some cops stop them, so we turned the corner and put the beer into someones bookbag and walked right near the cops while those guys were getting searched, they stopped us and asked us if we had any beer ( we had most of the beer and like a half ounce of weed) and I said no, they asked us what was in the black bags we had the block before and I said it was a bag of chips, the 2 cops looked at me and told us to go.

after we meet up with the 2 guys that did get searched we found out they were searched and the cops made them spill out all the beer. Damn pigs.

It might not work for a fifteen year old anyway, or for most of the dumb asses I've seen attempt to use it. A drunk asshole screaming that he pleads the fifth over and over again typically doesn't go over well. Pretty funny from the third perspective though.

Which isn't to say it doesn't work, but I find it's much easier to just not look sketched out and be as honest as possible unless either a)you're not doing anything illegal, or b)it's something you'll actually end up getting charged with. I don't even bother to put my shit away anymore if a cop rolls by while I'm smoking at the park or something. I don't carry pieces I give a real fuck about anywhere, or all of my stash at once so I generally end up having to walk a mile back to my house, grab my bong, and smoke there.

The Key Points: If you're going to use the legal system against them, actually know what you're talking about. Totse doesn't count, go look it up and make sure you understand it. Preferably, try to get some experience in using it while you have nothing to lose, not only is it safer, but if they do manage to search your jacket after twenty minutes of arguing with you, and find nothing, their faces are rather humorous. Be assertive about it, but don't be a dick and you'll get a lot farther. Oh, and don't carry shit you care about around.
