He's got a good, cheap source, but for some reason the bastard won't believe me when I tell him he doesn't want to miss this chance. All of his other friends are telling him "if you take acid you'll regret it for the rest of your life/go crazy/kill yourself" and who knows what else. Since I'm the only one who's telling him it can't hurt him, I'm fighting a losing battle.

I don't know - is he right? Is it a bad idea to drop acid? We had planned to trip together, but he's getting cold feet. Maybe if some of you could post personal experiences with it...? I don't know. Any advice is appreciated.

It's not a good idea to coax someone into doing something they were initially reluctant to do. Especially acid. He could have a bad trip if he doesn't want to do it, but you pressure him into it.

Yeah, I thought about that. I don't want to pressure him into it, I just want to assure him that just because his cracked-out drug addict cousins claim acid makes your brain melt doesn't mean it's true. He was initially very excited, but other people have kind of beaten that out of him.

dont force him into it. i chose to do acid by myself but i greatly regret it now. i feel as if im watching my life from halfway between 1st and 3rd person from like the back of my head. i have a strange perception of everything in the world, as if i feel im not fully in this reallity but halfway unconciously somewhere else. my friends do things that i now view as pointless but i would love to still feel optimistic and excited about and now the only people i hang with are my girl and a few stoner friends. all we do is now is get stoned, and its not even fun anymore. i just want to feel like i did before i started smoking daily and doing cid. lot of people say cid and mushies made them really appreciate life and realize how good it is and how lucky they are but im left with this feeling of pointlesness and that all my feelings are the result of chemical activity in my brain and so is therfore as pointless as the joy of mdma and will inevitably be gone and ill feel like shit.

Don't talk him into that shit, if anything goes wrong it's on you. Just get him to get it for you, find some sources of info online about Acid (pros AND cons) educate the man and let him make the decision. Let him be your sitter while you trip maybe?

Also, tell the retards telling him it'll ruin his life/make him insane if he drops once to be a little more open minded and pull the sticks out of their asses and let people make their own decisions and mind their own business..especially about something they obviously know NOTHING about.

I normally wouldn't be trying this hard to change his mind, but it depresses me because he was perfectly fine with it before a bunch of morons made him decide that smoking crack is safer and healthier than taking LSD. I'm not trying to brainwash him into taking a drug that he doesn't want to, but rather explain to him the real pros and cons. I mean, who would take a drug if they think it makes your spinal cord melt? No wonder he's against it now.

dont force someone to do acid, if he goes into the experience all paranoid and shit its not going to be fun for him...

tell him to go to erowid and read... all of it... he should learn that no one dies from overdose, hardly anyone ever goes insane, and that more people have amazing trips than those who have bad ones, and even in the end many who have a bad trip consider it a positive experience even if it wasn't fun... because they learned things about themselves that they would have never realized without it.

Acid is a wonderful experience, ive done it multiple times within the past year... if anything its helped me bring some positive changes in my life. I learned that i don't need anything to make myself happy other than just simply being alive. to a fairly depressed person that change in outlook is a wonderful thing...

acid is pretty heavy shit that should be reserved for experienced psychonauts. don't pressure people to do things they aren't ready for. there is such a thing as a bad trip.
