Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Angry Obama Votes In Favor Of Surveillance Bill

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/...ots/index.html

He vowed to filibuster to keep the bill from being passed in October but then instead, votes for it. Well isn't that fantastic.

This guy is such a stereotypical politician; he won't actually go against something he claimed to disapprove of, due to the fear of the public's' perception of him...Being afraid of appearing "soft on terrorism" isn't a good reason to vote on a bill allowing domestic spying that in all essence, is completely undemocratic and essentially violates the constitution...Change we can believe in...What a load of shit.

What has our political system come to when politicians can't actually make the right decisions due to the stupidity of the general public?

Democracy and Obama are both equally worthless. This is what happens when every overweight, dumbass, consumer in this country gets a vote, it becomes a stupid fucking popularity contest. Who gives a fuck about civil liberties or basic rights!?

Democracy and Obama=failure.

There should be a certain political test that everyone is forced to take if they want to vote, based off of general knowledge of the candidates the pros and cons of each issue.

George Carlin says it best right here....http://youtube.com/watch?v=0u6lCBnRoHQ

Yeah, it's pretty depressing they all caved like that. I don't know what they were thinking.

Well I am still sending Obama's campaign a check For 6,304 Kazillion dollars. Yea, with a memo saying the check is as good as Obama's Campaign promises.

The terrorists win, when the politicians are so quick to take away our liberties to protect our freedom. Maybe the ACLU can win one for the constitution on this one.

About time someone complains about this here!

I was watching Obama on this issue. Because of his failure, I no longer trust him.

Which makes my choice a great deal harder. It may be that neither party gets a vote from me.

He never had a chance, but at least my conscience is clear.

Oh, yeah, Paul was awesome, and I would have voted for him if I was 18 at the time of my state's primary.

But he didn't win the primary, so I have to decide what I'm going to do now - weather I'm going to vote for Obama/McCain/Bob/Nobody.
