Default grand theft

what ive been wondering is how someone would you go about stealing very expensive items (i.e. antiques, art, baseball card collections). what i thought of was to find people by looking at items for sale on craigslist, ebay, or other things like that and i need some questions answered.

1. is there a way to track someone down (street address/mailing address) through craigslist/ebay accounts without drawing attention.

2. how would you go about selling unique items that would be recognized as stolen (i.e. paintings)

3. how could you figure out what types of security said person had./ how do you defeat those security systems

4. how could you figure out the price of said items BEFORE stealing it

1- Call from a payphone, set up a meeting about one of the items you seen in craigslist/alternatively if you have the number just run it through 411 or w/e that shit is and get his address.

2- Ebay/Internet/Pawn Shawp.

3- Question's too ambiguous.

4- Interw3bz.

i know this is kind of a stupid question but is there any way to find personal info on someone i.e. political/religous beliefs or causes they align with i.e. pro-life/pro-choice etc. because that would make casing a LOT easier

If you've got their number, just phone from a payphone and pretend to be doing one of those survey thingys....

How would that help tho?

1. above poster said it, and if you didn't know it - you can do reverse look ups in your local 411 website. (meaning you can input the phone number and get an address of that phone number)

theres a flaw in this tho, it doesn't work all the time and people sometimes give you cell phone numbers. And craigslist sellers are onto this , sometimes they won't meet you at their house. All you can do is run their info through 411 and your local 411 website.

2.depends what you sell

3. Almost all home alarm systems are the same. Most home alarms have magnetic alarms on the doors and vibration detection on ground level windows. Instead of defeating, it's easier to bypass these alarms by using tools to open windows and other weaknesses in the building your attacking...

4.Obvious

Use JAP and a wifi hotspot to make a quick paypal account (and ebay if you're looking for marks on there), make sure to spoof your MAC address too, look through any other cheap items for sale of theirs and buy them through paypal; most people use their real details on paypal so check that.

Or you could just e-mail them from a g-mail account some questions about the goods, hope they use their real name with their e-mail account and then do a whitepages look up. Mos tof themc will give you a phone number later anyway if you were to say you were going away soon with limited access but are still interested in the goods. It'll make it even easier then to search with a name, state/city and phone number.

Selling items on a market stall or keep in storage somewhere for a month or 2 (do NOT keep the goods at your house) and then sell goods on a different site (if you stole them off someone on eBay you'd sell on craigslist). Or you could just sell to friends.

Finding out security systems is no way until you scope out the house and can see any security logos/stickers on their windows of the house or just by simply looking for the label on the burglar alarm outside the house. ADT is very easy to beat and I wrote some advice in a burglary text I did a fair while ago (needs updating actually).

Internetz for finding out price, or look in some official magazines which they'd be sold in.

Run a google search on their e-mail address (I would say rapleaf but you have to pay for that now) find their social networking sites and look for clues to that and see if they're joined to related sites with that e-mail; or you could just call up and pretend to be doing a survey or some shit (with a voice changer/soundboard on skype if you already called them and they'd know your voice).
