On mushroom picking
Have the time I hear (on the internet) how easy it is to find shrooms, stories of people going out into cow fields and picking handfuls, I've heard my mom talking about how they used to (still do?) grow in school and park fields in vancouver, bc, and so on, is this a reality? There is a lot of cow fields around here and I've been thinking about wandering around in one a bit. It's not very wet this time of year, rain maybe once a week and so on. Should I even bother with this? Any thoughts?

Re: On mushroom picking
Unless you are trained in mushroom picking, don't do it. Its not worth risking just to save some cash.

Re: On mushroom picking
I always pick my own shrooms. So much easier.
Its too cold for them at the moment but this summer should be fun.
EDIT: Just make sure you know which to get.

Re: On mushroom picking
I did it last summer quite a bit. My location might have something to do with it, but I only got a little less than an ounce all summer.

Re: On mushroom picking
If a person is somewhat intelligent they can use this here interweb doohickey to get pictures of the proper shrooms for comparison, anyone that just scarfs down wild mushrooms without actually finding out what they are deserves the raging shits...which would be what you'd get if you're lucky. Just dont forget to bottle it for pickwick.

There are a lot of look-a-like mushrooms that sometimes grow near active ones. Only true way to know a specific 'shroom is from a spore print.
Edit: Shroomery.com is a fantastic site for mushroom information, as White Blue Mushrooms said.
