stealing computers tomorrow
I made a post about this in another thread, but it did not get feedback, so I’m making a thread about it. My life could seriously get fucked up over this, so I would appreciate any constructive inputs. Tomorrow I will steal as many computers from my school. I have decided that it will be tomorrow, I will do it no matter what, or at least I will attempt it. Some background info:
It is a rich private school so no one will miss the computers. No I am not rich; I’m going to the school for its sports programs. Tuition is a pain, I am doing this party to cover for it. As I said again school is rich and no one will miss the computers. Now I did not carry this out earlier in the year because our school has crappy Pentium D computers in the library and the other computer labs. BUT, recently, one of the parents (working for hp) donated some computers/laptop. I found out the art department got the laptops and the media department got some Core 2 Quads. My estimate is that there are ~10 laptops and ~15 core 2 quads. My plan is to take about 2 of each.
So it will be tomorrow as it works out perfectly. I will wear my school uniform to avoid any suspicion. The school is not in session BUT some kids from China pay a ridiculous amount of money for ESL program (it goes on even on Sat&Sun) so I will pretend I am part of that (as a volunteer (I am not Chinese)). I will carry the plan out at 1 pm when most of the school workers will be on break. Our gym is also rented out for church service, so there will be more distractions on the other side of the campus.
The computers/laptops are located in the Arts Building which is separated from the main building at the edge of the campus. The back of the building leads right to the parking lot so getaway is convenient. I will gain entry to the building (it is only openable from the inside) by asking one of the Mexican/Black workers. This is a common occurrence and they will think nothing of it. I will pretend I am getting my artwork or something. There are many exits in the building, so I will just walk out with as much as possible.
Now my concerns:
During the year, I only noticed 1 camera (black bulb) in the ceiling outside the office. Is it normal for a school to keep other hidden cameras? It has approx. 600 students and I think they might have cameras outside. If the admin saw the tape, they would recognize me right away. I cant wear a mask because that makes me too suspicious and I wont be able to gain entry to the building.
Also, all the computers/laptops are part of the wireless school network. If I bring them home, is there anyway they can trace it back? And before I a wireless router, how do I change the MAC address on the comps? Any other tips/ concerns I should look out for? I know there are people experienced in things like this.
Short Version: I am raiding my school tomorrow for computers and I need some heads up on things I should look out for.

Re: stealing computers tomorrow
How do you know the arts bulding will be empty? You need to think this out more.

Re: stealing computers tomorrow
the worker who lets you in will report that you asked them once the theft is realized
and acolytes aren't allowed to do "/thread"
work it out more, don't do it tomorrow (if you're still planning on it..) because you're gonna get caught
to disable the cameras, you can somehow knock out the school's power? Is there any other way you can get in? (keys, lock picks... etc, etc)

good observation, the school will report the theft and police investigators will logically ask what people saw at the time of the crime around the scene of the crime

also a good observation
...
Can you maybe alter your appearance so you look like a different person? Because you could bypass the construction workers and cameras safely if you alter your appearance to the point where your description on camera and is not your real description.
For example, buy/steal a wig (BELIEVABLE wig), dye your hair, wear sunglasses, don't shave or shave, etc.
Alternatively you could convince the construction workers your some bad ass thief robbing the school and let them in on a deal in exchange for their silence and co-operation.
Now about cameras : Usually schools or businesses don't have hidden cameras in place unless they have a problem with theft so just look out for the obvious black domes and security cams. If you really don't want to be on cam and arn't doing the disguise thing just walk with your head down and try to look where your walking, it's ghetto but it works.
what I would is is keep a mask or bandanna in my pocket for when I reach where the cam is. Or try to sneak up on the cam and cover it with shaving cream/spray paint etc.
Your main concern is like one poster said above, the police investigators are going to grill those construction workers for descriptions and such. A major key for you to not getting arrested is altering your appearance, convincing the workers not to talk and evading surveillance.

Re: stealing computers tomorrow
Its something that's been on my head for couple months now to the point I've been losing sleep over it. I will at least go there and scout out the place today.
I dont worry too much about workers because our school hires the cheapest and they don't know any english/ they are clueless. They probably wont recognize my face from the one time they see me today (and they wont see me again for the next couple of months).
I'm 90% sure the Arts Building will be empty except for few odd workers. The school is closed, except for the main class building/ and the gym used as a church. I know there are workers beacuse I went there just a week ago to pick up my report card and I wanted to work out in the weight room. The gym was closed but I asked one of the workers to open it for me. He didn't mind.
Picking locks isn't a good idea because the school invested $$$ on some crazy keys with electromagnetic chips inside...etc
And I know from experience that even if I do pick the doors, there is a silent alarm for a couple of minutes during which you have to enter a code into a little security thing. If you dont do that, a loud ass alarm sounds all over the campus. Our coach used his REAL KEY to get in, but he didn't know what the code was. He didn't realize there was an alarm until some loud as beeps all over the school.

I just remembered. There are cameras on the school campus outside (I'm not sure about inside the Arts building). There was a break in about 8 months ago. I don't know if they stole anything or if the police was involved. BUt I remember them posting a security cam pic over the school asking if anyone recognized them.
In this case, a disguise is mandatory from the start. I'm not sure if the security cameras are running during the summer though. I will appreciate some quick ideas for disguises that dont look suspicious at all. As long as I dont look suspicious the workers will open the door for me and think nothing of it. They probably might not even remember opening the door for me. Getting them to open doors is something that happens often (sometimes the doors remained locked during school session).

A believeable disguise would be best and a good escape route with a backup, if you have a car that would be best just switch out your license plate or get a phony one.
