I just quit smoking due to an operation for a broken ankle. Ive been taking perks for the pain since the day after I broke it (almost 2 weeks ago), and after the surgery my dose was doubled. I quit smoking so the bones would heal properly but now the perks don't seem to have as much of an effect.

I did get screws put into my leg, but the perks barely help the pain. Could quitting be causing this?

Like the others said your tolerance is increasing, and broken bones do actually hurt even with pain meds. Ive broken in total of four bones, and it is nearly impossible to elimanate pain, and still be a functioning human being that doesnt scare the shit out of people. For instance you dont feel much pain after 10 or so shots, niether after a fourth plateau DXM trip, or after smoking dust but when you do these things you cant really function like you can on pain meds.

If you dont already know about it you should do a Cold Water Extraction (CWE) on your pills. This elimates the APAP (read as tylenol) so that you can take more Oxy without ingesting large amounts of APAP (which is bad for you liver). Im assuming since you said you have "percs" and they were "doubled" that you have 10mg percocets. Considering these most likely have 500mg of APAP in them you can take 4 (not habitually) without much adverse affects/damage to you liver. If you do a CWE experiment with amounts between 25mg-60mg of Oxy starting low, because you can OD.

Note: The cheapest, easily obtainable pain med is Alcohol granted it does have some negative attributes, you could always resort to that if you need/want to.

This, along with a good balance of halved perks, weed and bed rest is making for quite the comfortable recovery.
