It's been raining alot over the last fortnight here, and the temperatures are averaging 17c-21c.. can we expect those magical mushrooms to be growing already?

Re: Mushrooms in the UK already?
I hope so. I may go on a walk and see if I can find any. Although you do see them growing around every shit summer anyway but they don't seem to be as potent as the september/ october ones.

The good thing is in England the liberty caps have no poisonous look-a-likes, so if you *did* make a wrong ID you'd only get the shits or something.
But be looking for a little brown mushroom with a nipple on top, which bruises blue. Take it home and do a spore print [put cap down onto a bit of paper and wait for the spores to fall off, the spores should be a dark blue/purple colour if it's a lib].
Found in grassy fields, usually in clusters.

Make a tea from them?
I hate eating them, but still do, usually I put them in a cheeseburger from a fast food shop [eg kebab fast food places] and you can't even taste them.

You big girl's blouse... :p
Dude, i have always intensely disliked mushrooms (something I have only really just got over), and yet magics are all cool with me. Ok, when wet they really are horrible, but shit, it feels like part of the ritual... the bad before the good, if you see what I mean? Dried, or in tea, they are a lot more bearable... dry ones you can just crunch up with some honey/chocolate and wash down with water, or even powder them and put them in gell caps if you're that phobic. Be brave... :D
As for libs, I doubt very much you'll see hardly any growing for at least another month or two, unless you're lucky and find the odd 'un, like reject. The fields and fields that'll grow in the prime locations though.... they normally flourish in the damn of autumn, when it's still kinda warm (before any frosts hit). Give it a month and then go and ramble around and work out where they grow in your area...
