ok so i bought a dell latitude CPi. Its an old dell Pentium II era i have windows xp tiny on there right now it works shitty has major driver issues. the neomagic video card has no driver support for xp so i got a win 2k driver to work, it works only half the time. win 2k is significantly slower than tiny xp so that's out. I'm tired of it and want Linux. i tried putting ubuntu on it and it did not work i wondering whats the best version of Linux for it and for noobs.

Gentoo or Archlinux. I suggest you use a window manager like fluxbox if you want a fast GUI.

I would say Fedora 9, as it's pretty easy to use, but I can imagine it'll be too demanding for your system, and [AFAIK] all the smaller linux packages aren't *that* suitable to newbies.

There's Damn Small Linux, that'd run good, and a couple of others, download it and give it a go.

But you could try Fedora 9, download a Live CD, no harm in trying.
