What are some ways to get rid of a freshly-made hickey within 12 hours?

I've heard that rubbing a comb on them spreads the blood out or something and makes them less noticeable, so I did that, but it just made my whole neck red.

I've also heard that putting a cold spoon on it helps, so I did that as well.

Any other tips?

rub it with a blunt object, many ppl use the end of a chapstick, i did this vigorously for about 10-30 mins and there was only a small tint of yellow left. it will be a bit uncomfortable at first.. i have done this personally more than once.

You have to do it that long? I thought you were just supposed to rub it for like a minute or two. Maybe that's why it didn't work...

if you've been doing for at least 10 minute you should see results.

Toothpaste. It dehydrates the area and bleaches the redness. Can be used with any toothpaste but works 100 fold better if it is a tooth whitening toothpaste. The higher the bleach content the better.

Cover the toothpaste over all the discolored area and let it sit for a minimum of 20 minutes, then wash it off with warm water and wash cloth. Be very gentle wiping the toothpaste off as if you scrub the red area, it will reverse the effects that the toothpaste did. You will see dramatic results instantly but it will look increasingly better every hour that ticks by.
