Default Bill's Adventure with Daytrana

I used to post here under a different name but for the life of me can't remember what it was. Anyway, I'd like to tell you a story about a guy named Bill. This story is a work of fiction and is not intended to be a guide for telling people how to abuse drugs.

Background: Bill is in his 20s and has been using all kinds of stimulants recreationally for about 4 years now. Bill got an ADHD diagnosis and was prescribed adderall for a year, then was taken off it. He was recently prescribed Ritalin, then Metadate CD, then Daytrana.

Bill has eaten and blown large amounts of ritalin and has always thought it was a pretty shitty drug for anything except focusing; when blown even in high doses it gives him about a 10-20 minute shitty high followed by a feeling like he's coming off coke.

Daytrana is a patch that delivers small amounts of methylphenidate (Ritalin) slowly into your bloodstream. After about 2 weeks of using Daytrana as directed, Bill decided to have a little fun.

So Bill searched on the Internet for threads about abusing Daytrana and came up with maybe 3 or 4 results, none of which were very helpful. Except for one, which said the patch could be chewed like gum.

Bill said, what the fuck, he'll try anything once. So he took off the backing, put it in his mouth, and started chewing it.

The first thing he noticed was that it tasted very bitter--just like he was chewing on a pill. After chewing for about 10 minutes, he started to feel pretty good. 15 minutes in he knew this was nothing like any other methylphenidate product--in fact, he felt as if he had just railed a line of mid-grade coke, which pleased him since the coke he got last week was not very good.

Pretty soon Bill was on top of the world. It reminded him of his first line of coke, though that was so long ago he wasn't sure it was quite the same. But it was definitely better than any line of coke he'd had in recent memory. His mouth was even numb. He couldn't believe this supposedly non-abusable drug was really this good, especially since it was just methylphenidate.

After 30 minutes he took the gum out. The whole experience from putting the gum in to feeling normal lasted about an hour and 15 minutes, peaking at about 45 minutes. The comedown, unlike cocaine, was clean, slow, and managable.

Bill believes that if more people hear about this it could become the next club drug. After all, who wouldn't want a coke high that lasted for an hour with a slow comedown? But Bill himself is content to keep it for his own purposes, using it to focus most of the time but occasionally going for that wonderful high.
