Default "Poppy" weed

I just had a question about this strain or type of weed that I've heard a lot about in my area. It's called poppy and I never smoked it because the name makes it sound like its laced with like opium or heroin. My friend smoked it once and he said it's the strongest thing he's ever done, made him very tired, and felt very different.
I also heard it's just black people weed, because I've only been offered by blacks and it's most common in bad areas.

Also a police officer once warned me that this specific type of weed is laced with heroin, but I don't know if he was just trying to scare me.

Poppy is not laced with opium or herion, that doesn't make sense unless you are paying more money for it then regular bud.

I had poppy and it is a really strong strain i believe, Its not laced. People around my area said that they some how cross bred opium and weed. still do not believe it, since the "poppy" i have smoked looked like just really good weed, and it had no black specks or other tell tale signs of being laced with opium/herion.

On a side note i really wish that i could find opium around here its getting quite depressing.

Weed laced with opium will have a very noticeable black tar inside and around it. It's very enjoyable if you like the effects of opium. Weed that looks like weed is almost never laced. If it is laced, and you can't visibly tell that it's laced, then never ever buy from that dealer again if he didn't tell you.

Smells like flowers -> opium in it.

Laced with heroin -> really stupid.

As stated above, it's probably just a really potent strain.

There are two medical strains I have heard of, one is called poppy and another called opium... Neither of them are in any way related or contain opiates and are just your normal average THC containing strains just like the 1000s of others out there with their own sometimes deceiving names. The drug world likes to spread rumours and sometimes very stupid things like that are taken literally by either someone stupid or unscrupulous and that information is then passed down the line to the end user or spread as I said like a rumour.

It is in fact very expensive, sticky and I've usually seen it bought already in a blunt, not in a bag.

if the weed also has black specks and a floral fragrance then you have opium laced weed, smoke that shit it is a rare opportunity to find opium, at least for myself, I wouldn't pass this one up
