So I had my first lucid dream last night.
...But I can't remember it. I remember reading up on lucid dreaming last night while eating a peanut butter and banana sandwich, then going to bed determined to do it. I thought about lucid dreaming the entire time i was in bed, and fell asleep and DEFINITELY remember doing it. And I remembered the dream this morning. But then I lost it somewhere during the day.
I guess I'll start writing dreams down more, and maybe I'll start remembering them better?

yeah lucids aren't any easier to remember than normal dreams so if you normally can't remember anything about your normal dream you won't remember lucid dreams either.

Dream diary is a good start, you can also do "reality checks", it takes a while for them to become a habit though.

Re: So I had my first lucid dream last night.
I had a strange dream the other night, it felt so real and i would never of been able to tell the difference, until i started doing things in the dream that i just would never do in real life, like drive my car, while being banned, through a cemetery ramming down all the gravestones, then in my dream i hoped i was dreaming as i didn't want to get caught doing it and recieving a longer driving ban! anyway i was saying to myself fucking wake up fucking wake up now in the dream and i just wouldn't wake up out of it, i felt trapped in it, until my mind knew i was in a dream and so did i, and i did old faithful, killed myself in the dream and i snapped out of it and woke abruptly as i somehow knew that would work, was rather strange, i was quiet shaken when i woke up.

remembering dreams is like trying to hold sand or water in your cupped hands. It would definitely be in your best interest to write them down as soon as you wake up; the longer you wait, the fewer details you will remember

Re: So I had my first lucid dream last night.
My dreams when I'm completely sober are either obscure and strange or bad, and the bad ones are always the same thing, and I can't stand it. They depict one (the same one all the time)scene of murder and torture. I often wake up from them in the middle of the night sweating and gasping for air.
My dreams when I'm not sober are often not strange or absurd, but depict scenes of me living a perfect life, you know? Everything's going right and I've got everything I could ever want. It kills me to wake up from those. I'll wake up from this wonderful life, sit up and fall back in disappointment that It's not real, and that that's NOT how my life is. It's like my mind is teasing me.
