Opinions on Muscularity
In college, I read probably a dozen studies this last year in various Psych and English classes about how women arent really attracted to extreme muscular male bodies, but yet males almost unanimously think they could use more muscle on their frame.
Now, Im a guy and gym rat. I work out, eat right, take care of my body quite well, and it would seem that girls dig this. And, being relatively educated on the subject, I consequently like girls who take care of their bodies... the right way. IMO, too many girls resort to cardio without even considering resistance training, when it's pretty well know that a good combo of the two produces the best results. I mean, I know and accept and totally enjoy that women are supposed to be slightly curvaceous and less muscular than guys, but its kind of a downer for me when girls are totally weak and out of shape no matter how cute they are. And probably most important, people who workout generally have much better posture than those who dont, and to me posture is KEY!
So totseans of S&A, what do you all think? Girls especially, Im interested if guys can be too muscular for you. By this, Im not really asking if you think Pro-Bodybuilders are handsome, because honestly, who doesnt think they look like freaks? When I say muscular guy, Im thinking like Matthew McConaughey's current level of fitness. And guys, do you also like a some muscle on your girls? Or are you chubby chasers and hoggers?

Re: Opinions on Muscularity
I personally like men who look strong and solid, not flabby sacks of skin, or scrawny guys who way less than me. I find extremely muscled men to be a huge turnoff, though, and prefer my men to be muscular but still soft and cuddly. I don't especially care about a man's physique as long as he takes care of himself and is healthy, but my ideal male body would be muscular and capable, but not lacking in some body fat as well. Men who are totally 'cut' kind of creep me out and aren't a turn on at all.
I think this guy is too muscular and wouldn't be overly attracted to him based on his body alone:

This is more my type of body:

But like I said: as long as a guy doesn't sit on his ass eating chips all day and actually puts a little bit of effort into eating right and being active, I don't especially care how much he can bench or how low his BF % is.

That's the important part right there in bold. Sure, women don't want extreme muscularity on men, but that in no way means most men shouldn't want more muscle on their bodies. Remember, most men aren't one step away from being Ronnie Coleman, so they shouldn't worry about being "too muscular" at all. The kind of physique acquired by guys as cut as the first picture Silverfuck posted requires something almost every man isn't up to, and by that I am NOT talking about hitting the weights really hard in the gym. Ask any bodybuilder(I'm not talking about anyone who happens to lift weights) what the hardest part about being a bodybuilder is and they will say it is the nutrition. Bodybuilding and getting an extremely ripped physique is 20% gym, and 80% when and what you eat when not in the gym. Muscle isn't built in the weight room, muscle is built while resting after the weight room.
But yeah, I do agree with your points on people and fitness. Keep in the mind the following statement I will not respond to, as I am not going to get into it right now:
I have nothing but contempt for anorexic people, as they refuse to take responsibility for their own health and physical well being enough to use real and useful knowledge to look better. Eating right, lifting weights, and jogging is what fat fucks need to be doing, not starving themselves or in the case of bulimics puking unhealthy foods after binge eating. Call it a mental disorder(which they call everything, even drug addiction), but that's just a bullshit excuse for people wanting to take the easy way out and not the relatively hard way of sound diet and exercise.

Byss just won this thread
Best advice here ^^, I'd recommend exactly that but he beat me to it.
Theres no reason people should be fat and starve themselves-- being in the health field I've seen it just cause problems in the long run.
I think its a mental disorder as you said [personally].

Re: Opinions on Muscularity
I like my guys built (not muscular) with a little bit of fat. As long as a guy can keep up with me when I run with my dog then I am turned on. I always see these huge jacked guys at the gym but it doesn't really do it for me, they seem like they would have a huge ego.

Yeah, that's always the stereotype, and it's quite difficult getting around that. Most of us don't please believe me. People think we are vain because we spend so much time on ourselves, when really it's just so we can be healthy. Working is also, IMHO, fun, at least for me.
One aspect that I've always struggled with is the intimidation. When someone is obviously bigger and stronger than we are, the instinct is to avoid them. I've lost count of the number of times people have been so surprised when they finally talked to me how normal I am. So, please, don't buy into the stereotype, and if you do meet one that does that, remember that he is in the minority.

Go talk to him in between his sets. NOT during, you might distract him and he might get hurt. He will not be as mean as you think.
And if he is , well, refer to my other post.

I wouldn't say its directly related to attracting girls, moreover a natural evolutionary part of the brain that keeps them more stronger than other males; so they can get with the women (remember 100,000 years ago it was man vs man at times).
