Ritalin effects - those with ADHD vs. those without.
I've been wondering this for a while now; if someone with ADHD takes ritalin it calms them down, whilst if someone without takes it, it acts as an upper.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Re: Ritalin effects - those with ADHD vs. those without.
it doesnt calm a person with "add" down, its just easy to focus on things on an upper high

Re: Ritalin effects - those with ADHD vs. those without.
if you're usually really hyper and jumpy and shit, you wouldn't really know what to expect from an upper. much less "feel" it. a normally really calm person gets the effects? i dunno, your question isn't really a question.

Re: Ritalin effects - those with ADHD vs. those without.
It is indeed somewhat like a "calm", mental collectivness, when you transition from the hyperactive inattentive state of mind to under the effects of medication.
Many environmental and developmental factors can influence what is know as ADD/ADHD, but it centers on a level of discord in the dopamine systems of the brain. It could be the lack, of dopamine due to slowed production likely from a nutritional standpoint..... Joe Pedo had an intriguing thread regarding L-Phen you could look at for more information.
Or it could be a naturally high tollerance, which i believe can be brought down by, well.....
going through an extended "withdrawal", particularly in still mailable brains systems, such as teens and young adults, well..... actually it is indeed something around these parameters...

I took three concerta pills on Thursday and i was hyper active, started a fight at school and extremely emotional over my girlfriend.
I didn't sleep all night i just sat in bed holding a samurai sword. i thought i heard voices out my window.
But my friend took just 1 and he got way more fucked up lol first time for him and we both light weight 50 kg.

Re: Ritalin effects - those with ADHD vs. those without.
I personally think that using stimulants to treat kids with ADHD(if that even exists...) is bull shit. I've been told, "If you have ADHD this AMPHETAMINE will calm you down". That's fucking bull shit. I don't care how rambunctious and hyper you are, amphetamines don't have an opposite effect on you because you're "naturally hyper". That's dumb...
EDIT: I know ritalin isn't amphetamine. I was using that as an example.

Re: Ritalin effects - those with ADHD vs. those without.
I don't have ADD or ADHD but I have problems focusing so after talking with my doctor he gave me ritalin for whenever i want (I love him, but it makes sense).
You don't feel any different but I can tell when I do take it I'm focused because by the time it wears off I'm really unfocused. Each medication for focusing is different so I recomend you find the right one, and DON'T take to much, cause you will feel to fucked up.
It would help anybody, you don't feel hyper I guess it's like when you have a redbull when you're studying in order to focus more, it's not like the red bull actually makes you hyper.

Wouldn't that mean you DO feel different when you take them?
I remember one time in tenth grade when I got a hold of 10 concerta. I chewed 3 of them and went to hang out with some friends. I didn't feel gakked, but I was in a really good mood. I ended up taking all of them except for 2 of them within 3 or 4 hours(not chewing all of them though). I stayed up all fucking night drawing this ridiculously detailed picture and couldn't sleep and had a TERRIBLE crash. It was worse then meth.

Re: Ritalin effects - those with ADHD vs. those without.
Amphetamines in small amounts makes a person temporarily mentally sharper. They can react faster, they can focus and they can think clearly.
For a person who Is already hyperactive, the small doses of amphetamines would not increase their already high energy by a noticeable amount, but it WOULD increase their concentration and focus, which is what they need.
In a person who does not need the drugs, it would increase their energy, concentration, increase confidence and up their mental and physical quickness (Like in the german blitzkrieg, where infantry, tankers and airmen were given Methamphetamine laced chocolate and snacks.) In larger doses, the effects will be amplified and you'll become "high".
I think that's about it. I could be wrong about something, though.
