On my Dell.

I ripped a 12 GB HD from a Mac G3 B&W, and disconnected the Dell mobo from my Windows HD, connected it to the mac hd, and installed Ubuntu on the mac hd.

It's doin pretty well, I can only see more options opening in front of me.

The 12 GB HD is gonna be a problem, I know it. But till I hit the disk space wall, I feel fine.

Comments, warnings about Ubuntu 804?

It's good, easy to use, and far more secure and stable than Windows, so you've definitely upgraded if you were using that.

12 GB will get you a lot farther in Linux than Windows

Congrats. When you run out of space just wipe Windows off the other HD and install 8.04 on that.

If you've not installed or configured anything much, you might want to consider re-installing off of the Alternate CD and using the LVM option while formatting the disks. This allows you to seamlessly add other disks into your setup without monkeying around with new mount points.
