do you think its worth it to quit smoking weed after 5 years of blazing?
ive been smoking daily for around 5 years and i was just wondering what totse's thoughts are on the subject. i dont get as much of a good feeling anymore from blazing, its more of a oh wow im really stoned, lets grub, feeling rather than the old "damn i am high as fuck!" feeling. should i quit and try and eliminate my tolerance? basically ive become too accustomed to how it feels to be high to get any significantly good feelings from it. also for how long should i quit before ill basically forget the feeling of being high?

Re: do you think its worth it to quit smoking weed after 5 years of blazing?
If you are thinking about quitting just for the sake of lowering your tolerance, I wouldn't quit at all, just cut back. I mean if you only smoke once a day, or every few days, you should get a lot more enjoyment out of it compared to burning one every few hours. And don't smoke more than you need to get high.
Oh if you want to forget the feeling of being high... a week to a few months I would think. I already forgot and its only been 4 days :(

yeah ive been doing this lately but its doing nothing, lately ive just been getting really stoned, paranoid, and anti social but the thing is that ive had the greatest times of my life whilst stoned. now its more me just smoking because its routine and it makes movies better. but nowadays going out in public high isnt too fun, i just get paranoid and anxious as hell...
so basically im looking to just completely forget what it is like to be stoned, so that the good ol days of smoking can return, how long should i stop for?

Same problem bro, not 5 years though.. more like 8 months of almost daily. Weed really wasn't fun anymore, it was routine.
I quit for like a week (well.. i just ran out, had no money and had alcohol so I forgot.)
And man do I get fucking blazed now off so much less bud! I smoked the last remnants of a sack and some resin and got fucking STONED. Nothing like the old days but if I had smoked that just a week before I would have felt nothing.
i, too miss the old days of having SO MUCH fun being stoned in public.
oh well

Re: do you think its worth it to quit smoking weed after 5 years of blazing?
Hello, all of BLTC. First post. Just so I'm not hijacking any threads. I've been smoking everyday for 8 years and once every six months I'll be smoking more than I want to and I cut back a little with my usage. I dont know if you need an actual break from weed to drop some tolerance or if you just wanna cut back. Maybe try the latter first and if you dont find that, that works then just stop using for a couple weeks. I know it sucks to stop but if your not getting enjoyment out of smoking then I think its time for a break.

If drugs aren't doing what you want them to do, then you shouldn't use those drugs. Smoking pot isn't for everyone. Some people just can't smoke it without having a panic attack. It sucks, but you should listen to your body. It won't lie to you. Maybe you should start doing more tripping.

yeah i know but the thing is i didnt start getting paranoid when smoking until about a year ago. i mean its not as bad of paranoia now but everytime i get baked and cruise around town i feel like all people do is judge the fact that i am high. its really annoying.
im actually looking forward to doing acid in the next few weeks for the first time, after im out of weed this week im not going to blaze until after i do it. maybe the experience will help out.

You should totally take a break man. Its not worth it to just keep spending money on bud when you aren't even getting any pleasure out of it. Plus even if you take only a week off it still makes a huge difference.

Re: do you think its worth it to quit smoking weed after 5 years of blazing?
Smoke weed e'erday
but seriosuly dude, i stopped smoking bud about 2 months ago and i was where you were at. My friends and I got high all the time and it was fun, but it wasnt as good as it used to be. after a month off i smoked and it was like my first time all over again. I smoked maybe once every 2-3 weeks now and work out a lot, and its still as fun.
but dont give up the ganj all together. ya gotta numb yourself a little bit, and alcohol will only treat your sadness, not make you happy

Re: do you think its worth it to quit smoking weed after 5 years of blazing?
I smoked occassionally in highschool, then 2 years straight in college, and stopped for a year, and started again for another year or so. Now I just smoke every few weeks, when I'm at an event or am really stressed out. It's so much more enjoyable if you save it for special times.
Use it like a treat, not like a necessity. Excess in moderation; keep it less than once or twice a week, but smoke a shitload when you do.

something to remember- after a long stint of continual drug use, sobriety can be quite a fucking trip.

When I smoke weed everyday I become a looser. I don't do much, I just sit around, eat and smoke moar weed. The overwhelmingly wide majority of the friends I have that smoke weed everyday are the same way.
I do not like weed any moar, it is a waste of money and time. Spend your money on better drugs, or spend it on a better life.
If marijuana really means all that much to you, go ahead. If you want a better high, you only really need to cut back to once a day, maybe once every three days max to get a good high back. You don't need to quit for a month unless you want to maximize every possible detail..

You are an acolyte and therefor do not deserve a responce.
To anyone else that cares (I hope there is none of you): Getting arrested takes a long time to process in court. My PO was fucking with me when he said it would take a month. I was arrested with cocaine (the reason I'm on probation) and it took about 4 months to process, 6 months to put me on.
I think it will take another 4 months to process.

So you used to enjoy the drug, but now you don't. You're trying to convince yourself that you still like it. Step back & take an objective look at the situation, then make a decision.

One of the side-effects is paranoia. Not so with LSD, unless you're in a bad environment or bad mindset.
