I'm somewhat inexperienced with drugs, I've taken ecstasy a few times, tried acid once, and have only very recently tried shrooms. A friend of mine (who gets me my drugs, and gives me advice about taking them) has told me in the past they eating before tripping is generally not a good idea, and has told me not to eat 12 hours before taking anything like ecstasy or shrooms.

I didn't question this, as I've known him forever, and I trust him. But, other people have told me that it makes no difference if you eat, and some have said that it's better to have food in your stomach prior to tripping.

So, BLTC, does it actually matter, or is not eating/eating make any difference? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'd like to find out.

If you eat about 1 1/2 - 2 hours before u should be fine. But really its dependant on your dose, when there is no food in your stomach the substance gets absorbed quicker, and say on the other hand you ate right before doing said drug if will absorb slower over a longer period of time and you wouldnt have as much of the peak effects. Have you ever drank alcohol and then ate something, or ate something then drank?You dont get as drunk as you would on an empty stomach.

12 hours is excessive.

For the most part, it is best to just not eat as long as possible before you take a drug orally (if you have to do it orally..), 6 hours is probally max, and that is probally too much also.

When I took 2c-e, I liked to eat 30mins to an hour before or I would get pretty nausious, and usually puke.

Look at any pubmed article about any type of drug's (licit or illicit) oral bioavailibility and they will all give a percentage, and then in parentesis mention that this was without any prior food, implying that food would have lowered bioavailibility.

From personal experience, if I eat and then pop a drug, the drugs effects take longer to come on, do not get me as high, and generally suck.

It really doesent matter with acid, as it gets absorbed through your mouth. I always snort my rolls to get the most bang for my buck out of all the meth they are loaded with so that doesent matter either. The only thing I would really not eat before is ayahuasca or mescaline because both of them pretty much guarantee you puking even on an empty stomache. But with mushrooms I might not eat an hour before or whatnot but I wouldnt worry about it. I have dosed after meals and shit works just fine. Its eating WHILE your tripping that can get kind of wierd.

This basically sums it up, I NEVER eat anything at least 4-6 hours before I take X, usually fucks up the experience. With Shrooms, I usually go about 2-3 hours without eating beforehand, but its generally a non-issue, as I always seem to trip balls. Same with acid, though eating while tripping is another story :)

the only thing i'd advise against is tripping on a full stomach...


however when tripping snack away..

an empty stomach means far better absorption of a drug, but if you've got a really strong dose of whatever, you might want a nice meal in yr belly.

generally though, if you really, really want the most out of yr experience I suggest fasting but this is more if yr turning drugs into a ritualistic/spiritual type experience. Which I highly suggest, even with something like heroin.
