Yes definitely keep them in the fridge! If you leave them at room temperature for a long time the spores will germinate inside the syringe and the mycelia will eat all the spores till it runs out of nutrients and dies.

No, that's not what will happen at all. WTF would the spores use for food? Sterile water and other spores?

Zipl lock bag in the fridge. will last for years.

and to the douche bag saying that the spores wont germinate its a posibility.
they can germinate off of small amout of gill matter in the solution.

So why the fuck don't you show me some proof of this? If I'm such a douche bag for saying that MUSHROOMS WON'T GROW WITHOUT NUTRIENTS, then prove it. The gill matter isn't gonna provide shit for mycellium to eat. Mushrooms aren't cannibals. You need some sort of sugar in there, and sterile water just doesn't have it. Why do you think that you have to add Karo, sugar, malt extract, whatever to make a liquid culture? Or do you even know what a liquid culture is?

I have a few syringes about half full. I've just made sure
there's no air in the tube and I have them sealed in
their own zip-lock bags, in a rubber-maid container. It's
been about 4+ years since I've grown anything, but
the spores look the same as they've always looked,
no visible mycelium. Not sure if this helps.. but it's
how I've kept them and I'm pretty sure they're fine.

So you have a degree? Or you did the same thing I did - read a shitload online and buy a copy of The Mushroom cultivator. Just because you grow doesn't make you a real mycologist.

Actually, on the internet, you kind of do. I could post the I grew mushrooms using my semen as a liquid culture. Doesn't mean I can't just make that shit up. It's the same when you say that you've seen mycellium in a fucking syringe that contains nothing more than sterile water & spores.
