My friend and I are interested in seeing what the big deal about these "
magic mushrooms" is. Our problem is, we have only a vague idea of what they look like. Also we are uncertain as to where and when to cultivate.

Also, can they be dried and smoked? If so, is it better than simple ingestion?
Quite frankly we haven't the slightest idea what we're doing...

Any good, links with reliable information would be much appreciated. Of course you can also just tell us what we need to know.

I feel like a tool spelling this out for you but, you cannot smoke shrooms, you must eat them. Heat destroys the active chemical, psilocybin.

In all seriousness, good luck on your quest. If you've never tripped before, you're in for a hell of a ride. And by the way, I suggest just buying the ticket. Finding shrooms out in the wild is hit or miss, and growing them takes time and is prone to failure (esp. for first time growers).

That video is OK, but there are much easier ways to do it, or at least Teks that involve the same amount of work with more yield. Check the Shroomery or shroomtalk.com's forums.

Posting sources for spores should be fine. We can also post ethnobotanical sources. Just not RCs, online pharms, that kind of thing. Nothing illegal.

Ralphsters is supposedly good, but they only accept mail-in orders. I don't like that myself. I can reccomend sporeworks.com and spores101.com, although spores101 takes a while sometimes. Sporebank.com sent me bun syringes.

Growing them does take time, but it's not prone to failure if you just read a shitload before and/or have the right books onhand during the process. The first time I grew, the thing that amazed me the most was just how fucking easy it was.
