So the other day I put my Treo 700w up on ebay. I clearly specify that it was for Verizon in the auction name, but I made a typo saying it was a WX. The person who bought it just emailed me demanding a refund and opened a dispute on paypal. The only difference between a W and a WX is that the WX is for sprint and the W is for Verizon. Now I would tell him to GTFO, but the kicker is some work emails and contacts managed to survive a hard reset and are still on the device. Fearing that if he gets too pissed he might somehow use the email against me (though from what I gather they were rather mundane, me asking the sysadmin for come css tips but you never know). So I offered him a partial refund of $30 and I hope he accepts it.

If he does not, what should I do &T?

If you clearly specified it was for verison, i don't' see his problem.
If he clearly read the auction then he would realized that thats what it was.
His problem, if he ends up giving bad feedback then just reply saying he should have read it more clearly.

Why not give him a refund so long as you get your Treo back why do you care?

The only thing you have to worry about is what exactly he has. Unless you had something really actually important on it, I wouldn't worry about it. You sure he isn't bluffing?

Besides that, just stick it out for now, refunds and stuff are a bitch, and he'll want you to pay for shipping I bet. I know I would.

my guess is he just searched ebay for a "treo 700WX," saw OP's auction, and bid. ebay seller descriptions are weird anyway because they're all like:

OK I AM SELLING A TREO 700WX IT IS FOR VERIZON AND IT WORKS VERY VERY WELL LIKE BRAND NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHIPPING IS $5.00 EXTRA I ACCEPT PAYPAL ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I gave him a refund. Now the only reason I did this was my mild paranoia that there was something sensetive in the emails that were left on the device. Otherwise I would have told him to eat a dick.
