Okay I'm getting tired of this bullshit
Okay I have a computer that I received from a friend. Unfortunately every month I have to re-bot the fucker cause microsoft asks me to activate it. (or some shit)
Can someone help me install linux on this computer. I've used linux before I'm just not too sure how to install (if you want to call it that) it.
All help would be appreciated.

Download live disk, burn it to CD/DVD, set boot options to boot from CD drive, on desktop double click "install [linux dist] to hard drive", follow on screen instructions.

http://ubuntu.com
It's easy to download/install, but if you want more hand-holding, check the documentation, the community contributed documentation, or the forums.
I recommend using the Alternate Install disc, as it makes it easy to set up an encrypted home directory or fully encrypted system. Even if you don't have anything to hide, crypto sends the message to anyone who might confiscate your hard drive that you and the rest of the citizenry at large aren't their fuckpuppets and will enforce your right to privacy. Also, if the computer gets stolen, all of your potentially damaging information will be kept secure.

Re: Okay I'm getting tired of this bullshit
I suggest OpenSUSE 11. It looks great, and feels a lot like Windows Vista/XP in terms of usability. The documentation is decent, and it just looks great.
It is extremely easy to use, and was the first Linux distribution I used after migrating from Windows.
You can check out the screenshots for a taste of OpenSUSE 11 or the main site to see what OpenSUSE is all about. Also, the SUSE project was founded by Novell, which officially supports OpenSUSE, allowing better support.
Trust me, you'll like it a lot more than Ubuntu out of the box.

You'd like AIDS better than Ubuntu out of the box.

well... I don't know about AIDS... but yeah, Ubuntu out of the box is a bit of an annoyance.
It's taken a while, but now I've got something I'm happy with.
